i think the b e a t i n g in our HEARTS was put there to remind us that even when we feel A L O N E in the world, a piece of us MARCHES on. that even at our lowest we c a r r y something inside us that we can LEAN on and turn to. that even when we have N O O N E else, we a l w a y s have OURSELVES being the beacon of light in a sea of darkness is an awful burden to bare

“Why should I have to do all the hard work. I could do this maze in seconds if I wanted to.” Clyde mumbled. He was obviously stuck but didn’t want to let on that he was.
Image
“Well go on then. Finish the maze, Clyde. If you’re so sure you can do it so quickly, how come we’re still standing here.”

“Yeah, and then I’m gonna make another wrong turn in this stupid shit. I don’t see why we cant just…” He smirked stepping between the rows of corn, and then stepping out with his hands out. “I mean I grew up around this shit. I don’t get the fun of running through a corn maze when it’s put out in neat little rows. It ain’t a maze.”He grumbled going back to go the right way like she had told him, his grumpiness still evident.
Image
“Because it completely defeats the purpose. I know you’re used to doing whatever you want your own way, but humor me just this once, huh? And if you’re really that upset about it being nothing more than a corn maze well..” She could always make it a little more difficult for his eyes only. “You’re honestly the absolute epitome of the town grump, you know that, don’t you? Just.. pretend for a little while that you’re actually enjoying being somewhere else other than locked in your house.”

Axel took note of the blonde with her company, both trying to find their way to the middle of the maze, whereas Axel was far more interested in jumping out in his mask and scaring the shit outta the occupants. Everyone had their own way of having fun at this thing, apparently. Even Axel. Though in reality he was here for the food and the the fear alone. “Good luck with that, I’ve seen one kid running around here for about two hours now. I scare him every time he passes, and he cries out for his mom.”
Image

Though her company made to take a left and disappeared into the maze, something Savannah wasn’t too worried about, since she’d likely be able to find her quickly enough, the blonde couldn’t help but roll her eyes at Axel. “You’re unbelievable, you know that? Leave him alone or I’ll permanently fix that mask to your face, Axel.”

WHAT about a small hint ?? I mean like I’m pretty sure that if I don’t get one we’re going to be stuck here for the rest of the night. Which reminds me why did I do this again??
Image

“You’re getting warmer? How’s that for a hint? We’re not going to be stuck here, if you really can’t do it, then I’ll show you the way out, but we’ve only been in here for about eight minutes. You said something about that guy in the blue shirt and now.. here we are.”

Come on, you can’t even help me cheat a little to get us out of here? That is no fair Savi.” Aliza ran her hands over her face before glancing over at the blonde. “You really think this is funny, what do you want me to do, sniff us outta here? Really putting my wolf abilities to work huh. Next time you should throw a bone.” She joked, “come on let’s get out of here. And if I get lost you owe me a drink.”
Image

With a deft roll of her shoulders, Savannah grinned at the other before she rolled her eyes slightly, “Fine.. fine.. it’s a left here. Don’t tell anyone I told you, I just can’t handle you making wolf jokes, I’ll end up looking like an ass for not telling you anyway. I’d never throw a bone.” The witch objected loudly. “I’ll buy you a drink either way, alright?”

“It hardly seems fair,” Lucas said, “I’m very good at finding my way without seeing.” He adjusted his jacket, “perhaps we should race?”
Image

“I know. But I’m also completely aware that you “see” more than you let on, fancy pants.” Savannah noted in a sing song tone. “Oh, we can definitely race if you feel up to it, Lucas, but that would really just look bad on me and I don’t know if Im prepared for that kind of backlash.”

“You’re no fun” he teased, he wasn’t being serious though, he actually didn’t mind that he would have to figure it out by himself. He wouldn’t have as much fun if he knew how to go through it, then maybe wouldn’t be as much fun. “Alright, then it’s not this way, this will take a long time, but it’s fun, I like mazes”
“That’s what everyone always says.” She said in return, the smile on her face more than enough to determine that she really didn’t care all that much what anyone thought. “It’s really not going to take that long, Promise.”

“Listen to me, Blondie, I didn’t even want to be here. The only reason I am here is that your jackass of a brother wouldn’t leave me alone and he chased me into here so why don’t you just do a good deed and help me out or I am just going to make the entire corn heaven die and people will see a horror crops.”
Image

“I almost forgot how good your manners were, Evelyn. You’re literally almost out, the quicker you get out the quicker you can go smack Aston for being a dick. Nice try, the entire maze is made by magic, it’s not likely that you’ll be able to make it die. Relax, it’s supposed to be fun you know.”

“Hey hey just because I have a kid and can find almost anything, doesn’t mean I know how to find a way out of this place.” Scarlet said with a soft laugh. “But I mean if you want me to MacGyver it I’m sure the corn is a little forgiving and we can squeeze through.”
Image
“Come on, you just said so yourself, you can find anything. It’d be unfair of me to lead the way out of here and completely defeat the point of the whole thing. Does it make it better to know that we’re almost there?”

Savannah had dragged Braxton out to this crap and now they were stuck in the middle of a corn maze. He had been grumpy most of the day but her laugh tended to bring a smile to his face, but it was always quickly hidden with a grumble or complaint. “I can’t get us out of this stupid shit. You wanted to do this you get us out of here.”
Image

“Sure you can.” She noted with little effort. Braxton was beyond stubborn, that much she’d come to quickly understand, but stubborn was merely another facet that Savannah dealt with daily, it wasn’t new and she certainly wasn’t going to shirk away simply because he could hardly crack a smile most days. “It’s really not that hard. You made a left back there when it should have been right.”

“I already told you. Just because I put the maze together, does not mean I’m going to help you get through it.” Savannah noted with a bright laugh, the corn maze they were currently standing it - at a dead end, masking some of the noise from the fair. “Come on, MacGyver, get us outta’ here.”

Aston spun around hearing his younger sister’s voice and he grinned widely. “Savannah!!” He cried, ignoring the person he had been pestering a moment before, pulling her into a bone crushing hug. “I’m so happy to be home!” He grinned, pulling back and looking her over with happy green eyes. “I’ve missed you so much, and-and I have a present for you from my trip!” Aston hummed, pushing some of her blonde hair behind her ear. “God, you look beautiful!”
The sound of her brothers voice was.. beyond anything she could have imagined it being, the bright grin that broke out across her face filled with every amount of happiness that she could have managed, her throat thick with emotion because god, had she missed him, “I am too, you’ve been gone too long.” She said as best she could through a hug that crushed her. “You know you didn’t have to get me anything else! I already have a pile of letters and gifts that you sent.” As childish as she felt, having one of her big brothers home was...-- humbling, and all of a sudden she felt like she was eight years old again, fawning after Aston and his stunning affliction for wanderlust. For having a life outside of the coven, she’d thought about it but part of her could never do it. “Stop, don’t be ridiculous.” In fact, she likely looked like hell; the last two months had been the hardest of her life without their parents.

It was clear that the blonde was surprised by his sudden re-appearance into town. Well, actually, it wasn’t that sudden. He had been running around for a while now, but he was always one to keep himself to himself. As she started to make her way towards him, he also countered her movements until the pair were within close proximity. “Because this town is a beacon for dramatic shit and death.” He admitted, which was very much the case. Apparently Salems Point was more or less calling supernatural creatures out, luring them into the vicinity in order to fuck things up for the likes of him and other hunters alike. “Never a dull day,” He went on to add, referring to both the antics in town, and to his meeting with the witch. “Why are you here? — I don’t remember you having fun.” He was messing with her now, though he did hold truth in his words if he remembered rightly so, Savannah always the one to hold the family together, never wasting time or enjoying herself, as there were clearly far more important activities to take part in as a Delore witch.
If she were being honest, she was more than surprised that she didn’t know he was here, for the longest time Savannah had made a point to know everyone who crossed into Salem's Point, but with the death of both of her parents and the lingering trauma that came with seeing it happen, she supposed she’d let something slip. Responsibility, and clearly her frame of mind, considering her being here of all places. “Well..-- I guess I can’t really argue with that. I just figured you were done with this place.” Or so it had seemed, when he’d just left without a single word. But, that was always how it went. Savannah let someone in, in any capacity, and they either died or left as if it were no skin off their nose at all. It left a bitter taste on her tongue. “Maybe you came back at the wrong time, things have been quiet lately.” Aside from the spot fires, which she was still trying to work out. “It’s a bar. They serve drinks. Why else would I be here?” Clearly he remembered that she wasn’t a huge drinker, but things changed, didn’t they? “I’m perfectly capable of having fun, but maybe that’s just another thing that you let slip your mind.” It felt sharp on her tongue. It wasn’t crippling, but it still hurt.

Charlie hated the dark. And it was only natural that her car broke down on the edge of town right as she was getting ready to leave, disheartened and sad. Her cell phone didn’t have any service and she felt like a sitting duck in her car, buried under blankets and sweaters to combat the damp, Autumn chilliness that was trying to freeze her to death. She had to make a decision; either stay there and probably get murdered by a serial killer that prowls the woods or try to walk back to town and probably get murdered by a serial killer that prowls the woods. She trembled a little, doing her best not to cry, and finally reached out to unlock the door so she could get out and make the trek back to Salem’s Point.
Image
“Charlie?” The blonde asked, almost sure she recognized the woman as she got out of her car, Savannah having pulled over on her way back when she saw the car slow to a stop. “Charlie what’re you doing? What happened to your car?” Though she didn’t truly need to ask, she could have worked it out with a simple spell. “I can give you a lift back to town if you want, we can wait till morning and I’ll bring you back out here to sort out getting it fixed.”

“I truly don’t understand everyone’s displeasure with me. It’s not like I’m killing wives and children. Mostly the dirty drunken men at the bar—” Anya shrugged. There was motive for most her targets, but Savannah wasn’t lying. Anya had plenty mindless kills. “How else am I supposed to let everyone know I’ve come home?” She smirked.
“Oh right, you murder... the people that deserve it, right?” She scoffed, all too often she’d let things like this slip, but lately... --- well, she really didn’t have the patience for it. “The displeasure comes from the fact that you don’t know how to either, clean up after yourself ..-- or you simply just don’t know when to stop. Moderation is key to everything, you know?” How long had Anya gone on like this? “A phone call usually suffices.”
