as a former ten-year-old and current girl, thanks

Man, one of the big reasons why Spirited Away really grabbed me, was that I felt that Chihiro did most of the same things that I would’ve done if I was her. On retrospect, certain things are really obvious now.

Jester, reading from Tusk Love: “And he rips open her bodice–”

Caduceus, wincing: “That’s like five gold to fix.”

…i mean if that isn’t just the biggest asexual mood…

Bless you all for your mountains of Fjord meta after this episode. my soul thrives. i’d like to add one more thing.

In Travis’s Between the Sheets, he told Brian that he was initially proud of the fact that Grog was the only one who didn’t cry last campaign. But when he thought about how he watched his friends learn about themselves and work through their own issues through the game, he realized that he might have missed out on something really special. So he decided that this time Fjord would be personal, that he would carry some of Travis in him, so he could maybe experience some of what, say, Laura and Liam did.

He also talked about his dad. How he was “larger than life.” How he could command rooms just by walking in. How he could make anyone laugh. How he died when Travis was a teenager, and how Travis decided to emulate his personality so he could make people feel the way his dad made people feel.

Sounds familiar, right?

Idek why this means so much to me, but it’s all I’ve been thinking about and I feel like this adds a whole new layer to who we watched Fjord become this episode. It isn’t just Fjord baring his true self to the party; Travis is showing us himself, too, maybe for the first time since molly died?????? which makes the party's reaction even more wholesome on a meta level???? in case you needed MORE reasons to cry about how close Travis/Fjord got to crying yesterday

One of the funniest things about Caduceus needing refined residuum so bad is that Percy walked around with some in his pocket for the entire post-Briarwood campaign. It was part of two separate resurrection rituals, where it was never helpful

So can we talk about the fact that Caleb immediately recognizes that simply being handed the glove of blasting would be pretty crushing for Fjord (since it would manifest his own feelings of being worthless), so instead Caleb decides to talk his way around outright giving the glove as a gift?

“Obviously, I’m just putting this on your hand to see whether you can still do magic. Oh, look, it worked. And now it’s already on your hand, so that makes it yours. Sorry, I don’t make the rules.”

We’re all pretty sure that Melora’s gonna adopt Fjord and give him some kind of something, next episode more likely than not.  But it’s so important that FJORD wasn’t sure.  It’s so important that he didn’t, I dunno, wait for the new magic sword to be forged or something, before he threw the old one away.  He had to be willing to be totally powerless, before he can be assured of any kind of new power.  And it’s possible, I think, that Fjord could have woken Caduceus and asked him his advice beforehand, tried getting some kind of secondhand divine guidance to make sure he was doing the right thing, but it’s like Caduceus said: if you don’t act until you’re sure it’ll work, it’s not really faith, is it?
