Perfectly matching and replicating colors just by seeing them is an art, and, while it's also a very useful task, people who can do this are primarily artists.

Yeah but no but yeah -- Look he didn't just colour match it, he also added in the turbulence medium, the clearcoat and the correct metallic flecks... for a paint that will dry a lighter shade than when it goes on.

That's like being served an entire thanksgiving meal made my one person in 45 minutes and then saying "Oh they made me a snack": It is radically underselling what this person can do.

was fucking around on google images and i ended up stumbling on a reddit post from three yrs ago with a picture of iroh grabbing azula during a fight scene...

this is the only time i can think of when azula seems completely terrified.

he grabs her and she's scared shitless

but he just redirects her lightning and she's just bewildered.

i wonder what she was thinking there

Minecraft Piglins fuck me up. Like, they’re one of two/three seemingly sentient species, but there’s clearly something wrong with them.

They’ve got bastions throughout the nether, huge buildings that at one point were clearly lovingly constructed. Not only were these buildings functional (apartment complexes, hoglin stables), but they created art. Not just carvings, but music. Not even villagers have created music discs, only piglins. Piglins also had access to the overworld at some point, they have a number of items (carrots, water bottles, string, iron) that could only have been obtained from the Overworld.

But… something happened. At some point in the past, something happened, and Piglins lost the ability to maintain their buildings. The buildings fell into ruins, and even though the Piglins stayed with the ruins, they couldn’t salvage them. They just wander the broken hallways.

What happened? Well, we don’t know for sure. But… Piglins are afraid of Zombie Piglins. Even though Zombie Piglins won’t attack them, Piglins still try to get away from them. Despite this, Zombie Piglins don’t appear infectious. Piglins don’t even turn into them when they die. Instead, Piglins turn into Zombies when exposed to the Overworld. The Overworld infects them, and unlike Zombie Villagers, there is no cure.

It can’t have always been this way, Piglins would’ve needed to be able to access the Overworld at some point to get materials. But something went wrong. And here you are, exploring the ruins of a society and left wondering what happened. Or maybe more importantly, are you next?

The Minecraft website actually gives us an interesting hint about the fate of the piglins. In the page on The Nether Update, it says this:

The piglins used to have access to netherite, but they overharvested it, and all that’s left is this crude debris that’s useless on its own. But what do you need to make that debris into actual ingots? The same thing that piglins will give anything they have just to get a bit more of.

The way piglins used netherite in the past was unsustainable, and now today’s piglins are willing to give away riches they’ll never be able to get more of just to keep the ruins they live in today from crumbling any further.

[ID: a page from the official Minecraft site. it has a black banner on the top with the minecraft logo, and the entire page has a dark, crimson background. Below it is a picture of a netherite block, and just under that is text that reads: “Discover Netherite, a material stronger than diamond” all in caps. after it reads “Pure netherite- the strongest, most durable material in Minecraft- is no more. Piglins mined it all out. Now the only way to obtain it is by salvaging netherite scrap from ancient debris.” /end ID]

You know, this is an interesting take on it, but it does seem a bit strange to me.

Namely, if Piglin’s are desperate for gold, so desperate they’ll do anything, then why does wearing gold make them passive towards you?

If anything, shouldn’t it be the opposite? They have no problem killing a player who isn’t wearing gold, but at long as you have a golden hat or golden boots, they’ll let you pass by unharmed (unless you break their other rules). If they were truly driven by nothing but greed for gold, then I would expect them to attack players wearing gold on sight to try to get it. But it’s the opposite.

Gold certainly wouldn’t let you blend in with them, they clearly recognize you as something other than them, and brutes still attack you regardless. So that can’t be it. Piglins are still smart enough to barter, to understand that things should be given in exchange for gold, and they understand the difference between gold ingots (currency) and gold items (gifts). They also can’t always be distracted by gold. If they’ve been hurt, then they ignore it in favor of attacking you.

So, what if gold isn’t so highly valued by Piglins purely because of it’s association with Netherite? Or maybe that’s where the idea came from initially, but over time as conditions worsened and stories were lost, gold came to have a new meaning for piglins: safety from infection.

Fun fact about gold irl, it has strong antimicrobial properties. Silver and a few other metals do too. Gold in minecraft also has significant healing properties, AND gold has significant anti-zombie properties. Golden Apples not only heal players, but they can be used to heal a zombie villager. Glistening Melons make health potions, and Enchanted Apples are one of the strongest healing items in the game.

So maybe the Piglin’s strong fondness for gold is less about Netherite, and more about a belief that it may offer protection from Zombification? If that were the case, then Piglins being more trusting of players wearing gold makes sense. It’d be the equivalent of feeling more safe around a person wearing a mask today. A player wearing gold has signified that they are protecting themselves and others from the infection.

This theory is further backed up by Piglin’s singular natural enemy (they hunt Hoglins, but that appears to be for food, and the babies get along), withers. Piglins are hostile not only towards the Wither itself, but towards Wither Skeletons. And it’s only Wither Skeletons. Regular Skeletons and even Zombie Piglins aren’t attacked by Piglins, but Wither Skeletons are on-sight. Why? Well, maybe they have something to do with this infection. Or at least, maybe Piglins believe withers have something to do with this infection.

It’s also worth noting, when you spawn the Wither, the achievement you get for it is “The Beginning?“ and for killing it you get “The Beginning.“ Which is an odd string of achievements for spawning in and killing an out of the way boss.  A strange parallel to when you enter The End, and earn “The End? Or the beginning?”.

The constant implication is that you’re starting… something. Something bad happened here, and you may not have all the answers, but you do have two hands and you can try. You can start something new, or maybe bring back something old, and who knows? Maybe you’ll find the answers given enough time.

hey so shout out to @argonphoenix for being the funniest person on this post

How Kakashi's mental health negatively effected his strength and why he was getting stronger and stronger throughout the story.

Have you ever wondered why Tsunade was surprised that Itachi defeated Kakashi and was so angry that she scolded him for losing?

That's because Tsunade personally knowing Kakashi's power level as a Shinobi and that he shouldn't have lost that fight ... Then what happened?!.

Aside from the things I explained in the second half of this post, Kakashi was actually rusty, after Hiruzen got him out of Anbu and before he gets team 7, Kakashi's mental health was at it's lowest, he lost the Anbu missions which despite not being good for him and was actually making his depression worse, it's was the only thing that was keeping him busy, so now he had too much free time, he was failing all of the students he got and apparently he wasn't being sent to S or A ranked missions and according to his own statements he stopped training too

And here in his fight with Zabuza he states that it has been so long since he had a fight like this

And here he once again confirms that he hasn't had a fight like this since he left Anbu

Now, remember when Kakashi was teaching team 7 to walk on trees and was explaining chakra control? Kakashi explained that the physical AND mental energies combine to form chakra.

And this is why having a bad mental health can effect the Shinobi's overall strength greatly.

Then Kakashi gets team 7 and slowly things starts to get better gradually especially in Shippuden when he tells Naruto this

And then he got to meet his father and forgive him and know that because of it his father too can now move on and can finally join his mother.

And then during the war he got the chance to properly say goodbye to Rin, Obito and Minato and then later they even get Sasuke back.

He finally gets to move on.. even the Sharingan that was a constant reminder of his pain and failures was gone. When he says "As of today Kakashi of The Sharingan is no more" it holds a much more deeper meaning than just losing the Sharingan. "Kakashi of the Sharingan" was the man who had the weight of the whole world on his shoulders, who was always burdened by his guilt, his failures and everything he lost, that sad broken man who used to be called "Kakashi of the Sharingan" is no more. The new Kakashi gets to have a new beginning with all of the friends and precious people he still has, who has filled the hole in his heart, in a new era of peace, the peace that they all fought so hard to get and now they finally have. And this is why Hokage Kakashi is much much more stronger than he ever was. The current Kakashi has a perfect mental energy combined with a perfect physical energy (especially after losing the chakra drain of the Sharingan and the great toll it used to put on his body) and he is even training and learning so many new powerful Jutsu and inventing new ones like it's stated in Kakashi Retsuden. The new Kakashi finally gets to use his full potentials without all the emotional baggage that used to hold him back 🥺❤️

New SU crack theory: Jasper infected Steven with corruption

In Earthlings, we see Jasper slice Steven’s shirt. He pulls his arms away to see a small cut in the fabric.

A lucky miss, right? But it’s not.

In Growing Pains, Dr. Maheswaran mentions that his bones healed as soon as the injuries occurred. A cut is probably a quick, painless procedure for his powers. Literal milliseconds. Jasper might’ve even felt the skin closing as her nails went through him.

But. But you know what isn’t? Corruption. Steven physically cannot cure corruption on his own.

So when Jasper clawed him, it did slice through, the corruption from fusion is clearly transmittable, and the corruption has been festering ever since.

Why wait so long, and why wasn’t it healed from the Diamonds? Simple. Steven’s powers are powered through emotion. During Change Your Mind, the corruption was contained with a refreshed faith and love he got from realizing there was no Rose in him.

Steven spent his whole life helping people and ignoring his mental health. Once he lost his purpose, the corruption began to fester- growing from within. And once his emotions became so erratic, the healing glitched- we saw it do that before, when he lost faith in himself. So he starts to grow.

But it was a SERIOUSLY small dose, so it takes time to fully grow inside of him. He doesn’t blemish bc his skin heals instantly. The only warning sign is his growth- his body fighting back And by then Steven is so goddamn into his PTSD he’s already halfway out the door to Jasper, and we all know what happens next.

The swelling gets worse and worse because his mental state is getting worse, his powers aren’t controllable by him anymore (we saw that with his troubles removing shields) and he starts showing more and more signs of aggression. As his intrusive thoughts get worse and worse, he loses more and more control.

Steven starts to hear the song.

Steven fights to keep control of his emotions, but it’s too late by then. He’s on a meltdown and even the slightest bit of rejection or confrontation gets him to be super defensive. He tries to run, but is eventually cornered by concerned loved ones. He’s penned in and his body has given out on him. He doesn’t recognize it anymore. He doesn’t recognize himself anymore.

And we all know the rest.

no idea if anyone else has picked up on this yet, but look at the shapes of the funky mechs doc and ren have been building this season.

we started with the boat on legs, i think it was nicknamed the spider?

the latest was built under 'project mantis' and, well. look at it. thats a mantis thing alright

but the other two we discovered, power node 1 and the antenna, they dont have a particularly buggy theme, do they?

what they do look similar to are viruses.

so, what have we been digging up through this arg? bugs and viruses

with our help, doc and ren have been bringing bugs and viruses into the hermitcraft server throughout the season.

we may be partly responsible for Moon Big

Deltarune crack theory:

Papyrus is a human in the Deltarune universe.

Ok so this definitely isn’t going to happen but let me swing for the fences I have evidence. Sorry if it’s disorganized but follow me on this.

So, I believe that sans and papyrus were two of the fallen humans.

1. We don’t know how old the fallen humans were, or how close together they fell. Toriel does say that “children” come here sometimes but I feel it’s more of the way a queen considers her subjects her children. She also is hundreds of years old, most people would be children to her at that point.

2. We know the monsters held onto the humans bodies after they were killed, as we see with the coffins in the basement. They had no way of knowing how to dispose of human bodies.

3. We also have the same amount of ghosts/skeletons as humans who have fallen (bar chara)

Sans, papyrus, Napstablook, mad dummy, metaton, and unnamed dummy ghost.

4. There are a finite amount of monsters in the underground, they generally know eachother. And while it’s possible that no one in snowdin knew the brothers/their parents it’s unlikely.

If a human fell down, died, and took the time to decompose and become a skeleton, the monsters may not recognize them as the same human who passed though before. Hence “just showed up one day”

Ok so onto the Deltarune thing, this is the BS portion of the theory, I think it would be a good narrative thing. Papyrus can’t make friends because he’s different, human. He won’t come out of his house because he’s an outcast. It would be a way to introduce him to us without us recognizing him as papyrus.

Hell. He might even be the knight. Since they moved in right before the game started. What do you guys think?

(Obviously this isn’t possible because why would sans be a skeleton in Deltarune? But it’s fun to think about)

Chapters for this one will (probably) be a bit shorter than another hero, another mindless crime, and there should only be ~3-4 of them, depending, so hopefully I'll get this all edited and posted pretty fast.

Randomly reblogging my Orpheus-and-Euridice-but-it's-Renchanting fic because I reread it today and was reminded that I like. really loved writing this one.

I have feelings about my own fic lol. send help.

Just watched Martyn's pov of last life as well as the teaser clip on twt, realized I had completely misunderstood his character before hand. Man's not a follower as I previously assumed based on watching rens pov of 3rd life, Martyn's a full on evil little schemer, planning on turning traitor on the rest of the southlanders cause most of them are yellow and a risk, and he's planning on teaming up with Ren, but he might end up turning on him too, if you consider the twt clip fucking "turn friend into foe" oh yeah keep saying that you evil little man, Sus imposter, fucking planning on breaking my little heart after breaking off all of your allegiances

Martyn is—

Martyn is. Just. *grabs Martyn Inthelittlewood and shakes him by the shoulders*

THIS GUY.

He's clever. He thinks 8 steps ahead. If you watch him in MCC, or when he plays any other games, you'll quickly realize: this guy is a genius with learning how the system works. How the game operates. And then he uses that knowledge to his advantage.

The difference is that in 3rd/Last Life, part of the game mechanics are the other players. (And, to an extent: the audience. Because these are content creators. They are playing a game for their own enjoyment, yes, but they're also deliberately shaping their game to make content for their audiences. So they'll make decisions based at least on some level on what their viewers are going to find engaging.)

Martyn and Scott are actually very similar in this, only with Scott it's more that he understands people and how they operate. You can literally see him doing it with Pearl. It's not that he's being disingenuous or anything, but he consciously says and does things that will cause Pearl to see him as a valuable ally—Pearl specifically. Which means it's different than how he interacted with, say, Jimmy or Grian or Cleo in 3rd Life. The dynamics change, and Scott is a master at changing with them in a way that (in theory) gives him an upper hand.

Even in 3rd Life, Martyn wasn't a follower so much as he was an enabler. He saw Ren as a genuine candidate for winning the game, and saw that the story Ren was telling was a valid way of possibly getting there. So he fell in line with Ren's story and threw himself into that system to make it work as flawlessly as possible. (Again: this isn't like... faking or manipulating or anything. Ren and Martyn's friendship is genuine and incredibly heartwarming. I care they. But just because it grew into a genuine friendship doesn't mean it didn't start as a "hey, I think this could be a path to victory and I'm going to do everything I can to enable that method.")

So yeah. I look at Martyn this time around and I see a guy who is entirely on his own, possibly even more than Ren is. Because yeah, he's hanging out with the Ahalliance, and yeah, he's the only one who didn't pretend to run off with the trust life in that little display of whatever it was, but I have no doubt in my mind that the minute the Ahalliance ceases to be useful to him? Martyn's out. He will step on every single one of their bodies in order to clime to the top.

Now as far as Ren is concerned... I dunno. I think those two have a story they're leaking out to us in bits and drabbles, and I don't know what it is, and I don't trust them as far as I can throw either one of them. (And they're grown men so. that's not far.) I can't predict them at all.

If they partner up at any stage, then yeah: I definitely see Martyn betraying Ren before Ren betrays him, but they both have their teeth bared this season. And... they each know what the other is capable of. Possibly better than anyone else on the server.

They're being friendly, but at the same time I kinda get this vibe of two wolves sniffing and circling each other, and it'll just be interesting to see if they survive long enough for whatever sly things they've got up their sleeves to be revealed.

"Hunter isn't trying hard enough to be redeemed"

"He betrayed Amity 2 times"

"Hunter still needs help but not from Amity".

Hmm...I DISAGREE!!

So about Hunter "Not trying hard enough", he actually did try,2 times to be exact, and guess what happened those 2 times...

And not only that but the fact that he opened up to Luz in "Hunting Palismen"

Only for her to share his identity to the world! And not only that, she called him a "bad but sad boi" and now Eda's teasing him!

Imagine trusting someone, and then realizing they wanna be your friend, and you now have a friend! And then that friend goes out to share ALL YOUR SECRETS TO ALL OF HER 10 CLOSEST FRIENDS! (That was not what Luz was trying to do but that's likely to be what Hunter was thinking) Won't you, have some trust issues after that?

I've already explained the manipulation scene, but I'll say it here anyway.

"Come back with results or else...you can figure out the rest" -Hunter (Eclipse lake)

"Come back with results or else...we're done" -Amity (Eclipse lake)

That red arrow CLEARLY means turn back

Those 2 charts mean results cuz you put results on a chart

And the bat and the sad cat means Luz (aka, the bat) leaving Amity (aka, the cat)

And who would think of just spinning it around right? Hunter doesn't know "Human culture". He was most likely projecting himself onto Amity without knowing it.

And finally...

Why didn't he accept Amity's offer?

First thing, he did accept it (or want to) but then he saw the key, and ooohohoho, all those thoughts just went straight away. Why?

Option A (for Amity), is just a chance game (This is Hunter's perspective btw) he could choose it just for the CHANCE of maybe finding someone that would actually care for him. Since Amity said, quote:

"But there are people out there that won't make you feel worthless, you just...have to let yourself met them."

(So Hunter needs to wait until he can find someone like that?)

Or...

Option B (for Belos), get the key, there's a 100% chance he will be happy. Belos cares for him. And if he just gives Belos the key then and there, there won't be any waiting needed!

And option A (Amity) has some flaws too, The Owl Lady absolutely hates him, and (as shown in the earlier scenes) ignores him even when he tried to help her! Luz hates him now for trying to steal the Paslismen, and she just called him a "Bad but sad boy". They even teased him about his lack of magic! And he only met them for like an hour.

Meanwhile...

Belos on the other hand loves him! He's important to Belos, and unlike the others, Belos would never say anything about him being "Powerless". Even though he IS still hungry for eye drops and Hunter does have some...But Belos adopted him, and he's been living his whole life with Belos. Why would he chose The owl gang after Belos has cared him for all his life and they- just insult him and say some words of encouragement?

And he also acted out of instinct, (aka Golden guard side) and he wasn't thinking properly since he just had a mental breakdown and was using the things that he's known before (aka teleportation, the hand...not to mention he was using a different staff but was so desperate he somehow knew how to use it-), I mean seriously- Hunter you could have just levitated it away!

Conclusion:

Someone needs to give him some good interactions (for a few hours at least) and teach him about how bad Belos is. And Eda needs to stop bullying Hunter, because (According to Newton's law) you can only push at something as much as it can resist your push, so in the end, you'll have this barely supported Hunter that just moves out of the way when the actually good interactions come.

So if these kinds of bad interactions continue, Hunter may never be redeemed...(Unless if Rascal comes in but...Belos) because if he thinks that "friends" are only meant to hurt him and make him sad...he won't want any. And if these continue, we'll lose Hunter, and all we'll have left is a brainwashed and Belosy Golden guard.

Ok, so, to clear a couple of things up...

1) In Hunting Palismen, Hunter LET Luz go. It was his decision, he chose to do the right thing. And here is the evidence.

-When she tells him that his betrayal destroyed their chances at friendship, Hunter looks very guilty, then turns his weapon off. He stands down.

-Then Kiki is about to shoot Luz at point blank so that it was impossible to miss, but Hunter jumps between them and blocks the shot. All he had to do to win was nothing, instead he intervened to save Luz.

-Finally, we know from the beginning of the episode that Hunter can teleport long-distance with his staff. Luz rocketed him off the ship so far away she couldn’t even see him anymore, and he was back two seconds later. So that means he could have just teleported to the saddle of the dragon and knocked Luz off, then ridden the beast with the Palismen all the way to Belos.

This is lampshaded in Eclipse Lake: Amity laments that when Luz reached out to Hunter, it worked.

2) In Eclipse Lake, Hunter is ready to commit suicide because he can’t go back empty-handed. But here’s the thing: he wasn’t empty-handed.

Hunter had a palisman, the very thing his uncle had explicitly ordered him to capture. It’s safe to say that, had Hunter given Lil Rascal to Belos, Belos would have forgiven him and given him the reassurance that he was useful (and therefore worthy of life) that he so desperately craved.

But Hunter never even considered sacrificing Rascal. He automatically chose his own death over his bird’s.

SOOOOOOO…

Hunter was subjected to a lifetime of indoctrination. Propaganda all the time, never a chance to learn otherwise, and any and all attempts to educate himself were punished with physical violence and emotional manipulation.

He was utterly and completely alone his whole life, except for his abusive uncle who convinced him that if you can’t be exploited you don’t deserve to keep breathing. He never had supportive siblings to soften the blow of an abusive upbringing, nor did he even have the memories of a childhood friend to at least let him know what genuine affection is supposed to be like. All he ever had was Belos.

He was also adopted, meaning that his place in his home was always shaky, he could be kicked out and become homeless again as fast as he had been taken in.

And he was powerless, which is basically the witch version of being disabled. He wouldn’t have been able to survive on his own for long if his uncle (again, the only emotional connection he was ever allowed to form) kicked him out.

Even then, two times out of three he chose to be kind. That third time, when he backstabbed Amity, he was desperate enough to literally dig his own grave, and acknowledged that he owed her with a sincere thank you.

And people here and on other platforms have been calling him indecent, trash, evil, worthless, and so on and on, because he didn’t instantly drop everything he ever knew and loved for the sake of a stranger who was nice to him for two minutes?

Luz would be so disappointed in people who supposedly love her but reject the compassion she stands for.
