a writeblr (re)intro!
hey there! it’s rania :) i’m not a new writeblr, but i’m moving onto this blog (previously @summersromance). i took a hella long hiatus (basically, i felt bad i wasn’t writing and felt worse whenever i logged into tumblr), but i’m back, baby!!
okay so i’m rania, and i’m fourteen. my pronouns are she/her, and i’m an enfp. i’m a gemini and hufflepuff as well! i adore taylor swift (lmao who doesn’t), as well as alice oseman and jenny han. favourite books include (but are definitely not limited to): wolf hollow by lauren wolk, they both die at the end by adam silvera, and radio silence by alice oseman. as you can probably tell, i’m a huge fan of contemporary. it just. hits different, okay?
anyway, i have two main works. mission: kiss the girl is my main work. i did a first draft that i lovingly refer to as ‘the piece of shit draft’, where i got to 45k and burned out. currently, i’m going through that and writing out an outline for my second draft/my second first draft. here’s my (current!) summary:
Clementine Simmons’ life is boring. She wakes up, goes to school, and goes straight home. She works on her homework, fucks around on her computer, and then goes to sleep. Sometimes, on Saturdays, she hangs out at the local diner with her closest friends; or on Fridays, she’ll join her older brother’s football practices, watching unenthusiastically and clinging to a packet of M&Ms—but even these exceptions from the norm are boring, and typical.
The most extraordinary thing about Emmy is her brother—Liam. He’s the golden boy, the football star; with really good hair and a big heart. But he holds a big secret, one that he lets loose on Emmy’s sixteenth birthday: he’s gay. With this news, three things happen: Liam gets kicked out of the house, kicked out of school… and Emmy’s under the spotlight of public opinion.
With her friends telling her to support her brother, and his coming out, and her family telling her that he went to sin, and that all gay people are bad, Emmy makes a plan: a stupid, reckless plan. In order to find whether each one is right, Emmy decides to kiss a girl by her brother’s birthday: February 14th.
Nothing will go wrong… right?
my second work is unnamed, but i call it project aislin! i’m currently in an overhaul, so there isn’t much to say about it :)
if you’re a writeblr, please interact with this post! i’m looking for people to follow :) thanks for reading!!
