ive managed to avoid almost all potential show spoilers

but the night before last i saw the thumbnail about a video with alice, and that night i had another magicians dream, except Q was still alive and they were doing something about bringing magic out into the public instead of underground [that would actually be interesting]

anyways yes i was devastated when i woke up and remembered that we arent going to see Q again 😥

i still amnt sure if ima watch s05 😶

ok so more book/show SPOILERS ahead!!!!

prior to the end of season 4, sera and john had initially claimed to have had about 6 seasons worth of material from the 3 books the show is adapted from

one of the plot points from the books was the ‘death and ressurection’ of alice from her niffin state

season 4′s central plot line is not a direct plot point from the books, but there are many scenes that draw from the books, one of the most noteable to me being the ‘push’ card game scene

anyways, in the finale for season 4, SPOILERS!!!!, they permanently kill off Q

now, afaik, most of us who are upset arent too focused on the fact that he was killed off, so much as they way in which they did it, how q and penny talk about it, and what sera and john said they were trying to accomplish vs what they actually did

essentially they wanted to be edgy and kill off the white male lead but they really killed off another mentally ill bi boy who thinks he probly actually committed suicide by magic. which is kinda, you know, a totally shitty thing to do given the history of mentally ill or lgbt characters in western media, let alone a mentally ill lgbt character

ok thats it cause im having trouble concentrating at 2:30 in the morning lol

just saw the sdcc clip with the 'misogynistic pig'

first, wow they really wanted our first reference to Q to be in relation to this scene centered around a joke?

cause secondly, i felt like the scene was very been there done that/zero subtlety? like they thought: how literal and obvious can we make a joke out of this phrase? but also make it necessary for recurring jokes and a way to get a Q mention and reference the season 4 finale?

real talk tho im just upset because i feel like they yelled "Remember Quentin!?!" then spat in my face and ran away 😑

Y'all remember Gretchen from s1? Who traded groups with Quentin so he could be in the same group with Alice? With her Leonard Nimoy spoken word albums? Every time I rewatch s1, I’m like, “Oh, yeah! Her! She!” because I thought, for a split second, we were gonna get a recurring disabled, black, female character. And then they didn’t even give her any speaking lines in that one scene.

A few of my favourite moments from season 4.

  • I think the Mummy pictionary was one of the funniest moments in season 4. It was shockingly wholesome. I loved everything about that scene. The poor Mummy. They just left him.
  • Another shout out to Q playing Push. Quentin was in his element. That was the best of Quentin’s arc in season 4. I wish that scene was longer.
  • Voodoo dolls for fucking gets a mention because that scene was wacky. I love when the Magicians is just no holds barred ridiculous.
  • The dragon episode. It was definitely filled but seeing Penny lick an egg was hilarious. Dragon erotica. Again, I love when the show is crazy.

Q being confident while playing push made me v happy tbh, it was some nice character development that sadly was completely destroyed only a few eps later 😪
