whenever I see stuff like "I wish Hitler had finished the job" or "six million wasn't enough" as parts of genocide accusations and ways to vilify Jews, I just can't help but think about how none of these people are anti-genocide. they're totally enthusiastic about genocide, so long as the people being murdered are Jews - because we're not people at all, and never have been in their eyes.

I've been saying this since October 7th and seeing people justify it as resistance. Hamas' stated goal is genocide. They are horrible to the Palestinian people. They are not a resistance organization, they are an oppressive, genocidal regime. Same with the Houthis.

If you chanted pro-Hamas and/or pro-Houthi slogans, you are necessarily pro-genocide, you just want Jews on the chopping block. It's time you owned up to it.

If you are thinking "No, I'm against genocide, that's why I'm against Israel." Then you need to change your words and actions. Being anti-Israel is not the same as being pro-Palestine. Being pro-Hamas is not the same as being pro-Palestinian people. That's not even getting into the definition of genocide vs war.

Hamas has had their tunnels for years. They've been able to sneak goods in, they've been able to build bomb shelters. Instead of bringing in food and things their people needed, they snuck in weapons, so they could start a war which they knew would get many of their people killed. Instead of protecting Gaza, they hide and leave their people outside to die. They are not interested in helping or making life better for Gaza.

If you want a better life for the people of Palestine, you should hate Hamas. If you object to genocide in any way, you should object to Hamas. A lot of you are showing your true colors, though.

Leftists in like 2016-2021: I can’t believe people are denying that the civil war was about slavery! And trying to say that COVID wasn’t real or was exaggerated! People died!

Leftists now: The Holocaust didn’t happen and if it did then those dirty Jews Zionists just exaggerated the whole thing!

———

Leftists in like 2016-2021: Yeah, let’s all punch Nazis! Fuck those white supremacist assholes!

Leftists now: Well, actually, maybe the Nazis were right about the Jews—I mean, they wouldn’t have committed a genocide against them if they didn’t do anything to deserve it, because we all know hatred and bigotry are totally logical.

———

Leftists in like 2016-2021: “One bad cop” is a product of a flawed and bigoted system, and that means the system needs to change! And if there’s a Nazi in your group and they’re not being kicked out, then you’re all Nazis!

Leftists now: One Nazi in our protest doesn’t mean that we’re all being bigoted, even though we’re spouting the same shit they are. Also, we’re just gonna ignore the fact that Nazis are trying to recruit people from our group because we’re being so antisemitic.

Been thinking a lot lately about how contemporary Western Leftist ideology is directly influenced by the ideologies of entities like the Soviet Union, which based its ideas on the scapegoating of certain groups (Jews? Jews) and the elimination of political rivals who disagreed with its viewpoint, so it's no wonder the Western Left is so heavily entrenched in antisemitism and sees Jews as the proverbial Bogeyman, a community of Shylocks hell bent on world domination when in reality Jews make up less than 0.2 percent of the world's population and over 60 percent of the world's wealthiest people are actually Christians and Muslims but basic facts won't stop some good old fashioned Jew hating. Right? Just a thought, hehe, just thinking...

Back when I was commuting to an office 5x a week, in maybe 2018, there was this NPR podcast I liked, I can't remember which. But sometimes, they would layer relevant sounds over little bits of interviews, I guess to make it more interesting? Or even layer different conversations over each other, usually just for a second or two. One day, it was like a solid minute, maybe more. The sounds would get quieter and I'd think "oh, they're fading out!" then it would get louder again.

  1. I could not understand what was being said. My language discrimination just shut off.
  2. I was driving. This had never been a problem before, but the sensory overload while driving was not okay. Luckily, it was mostly when I was getting off the freeway, then at a red light. I switched to music once it was clear it wasn't going away.

I unsubscribed to the podcast and never listened to it again. I was sad because I had really enjoyed it and learned a lot, but I couldn't handle the auditory overload, and since I mostly listened while driving, I couldn't risk it happening again. The podcast not accessible and I didn't know how to put the problem into words to even email about it.

yes, iran IS bad. if you find yourself defending the fucking ISLAMIC REGIME OF IRAN then maybe take a few steps back and see how far into the rabbit hole of propaganda you have fallen, because oh my lord the number of pro-iran government posts that i have seen here is alarming. and i can guarantee you that these are mostly white leftists who live in first world countries saying these things.

people on here are trying to whitewash this regime, to make it fit into their good v bad, oppressor v oppressed narrative. it doesn't work like that, the world doesn't work like that. you are defending a misogynistic homophobic theocratic dictatorship.

women in iran have been EXECUTED for not wearing their hijab PROPERLY (not even taking it off, just wearing it the wrong way). women have been beaten, raped, and forced to live under a theocratic dictatorship, and you sing the regimes praises because 'west bad'.

the regime literally funds terrorist organizations all over the middle east, including hezbollah and hamas. on october 7th, iran technically attacked israel as well as hamas.

a lot of people are talking about how israel bombed an embassy. israel attacked the building next to the embassy, not the embassy itself. It was a consulate and did not have the same international protections. Of the 7 dead from the consulate bombing, 5 were members of terrorist group IRGC. 2 of the dead had coordinated terrorist attacks on leaders and were high ranking officials.

israel bombing the consulate was a response to the way that iran uses their proxies to fight israel. this is a shadow war that they have been fighting for years now, and you really expose your dumb ignorant asses when you pretend that the israeli bombing of the iranian consulate was just a random attack.

when you say 'iran has a right to defend itself', you are not standing up for the civilians of iran, you are standing up for the terrorist government.

Finally a post that listens to Iranian people!

As an Iranian, INFURIATING to see how many of these fake activists don't even care to actually listen to Iranians. They keep parroting IR propaganda and talk over Iranians even though Iranians BEG THEM NOT TO

They can yap about peace and human rights all they want but they can't hide the fact that they're openly supporting a child killing rapist regime like islamic repooplic

And who has to pay for this ignorance? Poor Iranians like Mahsa Amini

Just remember: Iranians won't forgive and we sure as hell won't forget

This poll is for people who live in North America, and consider it their permanent resident (ie, not people here for a couple years on a work or student visa). This is regardless of if you're documented.

For the ancestor of yours who immigrated (or was taken) to North America most recently, what is their relationship to you?

If multiple ancestors arrived together, pick the one who's the shortest distance from you (relationally, not geographically). For example, my mom arrived with my grandparents, so I would select "parent."
