Hiya! I'm Jandy (she/her)๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

Tagged by @rowenamckinnon @happilyshanghaied and @winterlovesong1 - all wonderful and fantastic and lovely friends. <3

Without naming them, post a gif of ten some of your favourite ships (any media) and tag as many people to do the same.

(I have many many more favourites than the ones I chose)

And if you haven't been tagged by the bunch of folks playing this game today, consider yourself tagged. I wanna see the ships you love.

i learned that actor Danny Trejo has the most on-screen deaths of anyone in Hollywood history, with 65. Followed by Christopher Lee (60), Lance Henriksen (51), Vincent Price (41), Dennis Hopper (41), Boris Karloff (41), and John Hurt (39). (x)

Yet poor Sean Bean is stuck with the reputation for dying in every movie. Unfair.

Give him time, he still has many years of dying yet to come.

Also thereโ€™s the question of density vs quantity. If you make a hundred movies and die in 50, and someone else makes 30 movies and dies in 30, the first one has died more, but the second one has died more often per movie.

Itโ€™s the DPM ratio that really counts, IMO.

65/402 16% Danny Trejo 60/282 21% Christopher Lee 51/259 20% Lance Henriksen 41/211 19% Vincent Price 41/205 20% Dennis Hopper 41/204 20% Boris Karloff 39/209 19% John Hurt 33/117 28% Sean Bean

Iโ€™m so proud of the statistical side of tumblr for coming through on this.

FRC 2025 - March ๐Ÿ€

Hello friends! What a month, eh? It's felt like a year in just 31 days.

It's been a bad month for sports at my house. My wbb team got knocked out of March Madness, my hockey team is like 99.5% out of the playoffs (once we lose two more game we're mathematically out), and there is absolutely no chance I can catch up in my family hockey pool so I'm going to be stuck wearing a hideous knock-off Oiler's jersey to the first Battle of Alberta next year. It's a sporty disaster!

I've been archiving my old Livejournal fics and RPG scenes to Ao3 this week. I apologize if you subscribed to me and you thought I was writing something new. I'm not. And much of what I wrote in 2008 is just NOT good. But I want it all in one place in case Livejournal dies someday, so feel free to unsub from me. I promise I never look at the stat, so I won't even know. lol.

Anyway, the @fanfic-reading-challenge has been really fun. I have read a bunch of fandoms that I have no interest in reading any further, but then I've also been introduced to new fandoms and become obsessed. Guess that's the point, eh? Remember, itโ€™s never too late to join up, and there is a Discord to ask for help and recs.

As I do every month, my progress and fic recs are below:

somehow instead of saying "as a treat", I've started using the phrase "for morale", as if my body is a ship and its crew, and I (the captain) have to keep us in high spirits, lest we suffer a mutiny in the coming days.

and so I will eat this small block of fancy cheese, for morale. I will take a break and drink some tea, for morale. I will pick up that weird bug, for morale.

I'm not sure if it helps, but it does entertain me

We often eat pie at work...for morale.

"As a treat" implies a special occasion, a temporary state. "For morale" makes the joy essential, because you have to have good morale to keep going.

Hello my dear friend! I am getting so many ao3 notices from you! I am thrilled. It is an embarrassment of riches.

Oh nooo! I'm just archiving old livejournal fics from like 18-15 years ago and some of the writing is NOT great! I didn't realize people were going to get notifications. I'm dying of embarrassment. Lol.

That being said, I shouldn't be embarrassed because I was really proud of what I wrote back then- even though I'm a better writer now. Still... I'm hiding under my hat right now. (Thank you for popping in though. I'm sorry in advance for the posts still yet to archive. Lol)
