drink tea you’ve never tried, reread your favorite book, get up to watch the sunrise, write a letter, listen to the birds, knit a bad sweater, bake an ugly cake, sing at the top of your lungs, jump crazily to some music. feel, really feel life without any restrictions, no matter the size. 

Ugh. I’m tired of looking at this so I guess it’ll have to be done. It’s a mixed success, at best. I got annoyed at how the pencil lines kept dissolving under the watercolour washes, so I drew over them in ink, which was a mistake. I think you either do loose pencil lines or else ink, but not both. (I do like is how the texture of the watercolour wash shows, though).

I’m sorry if I upset you. also it’s very considerate of you to be thinking of the negativity in your post, I wish I could be more like you and see the mistake I made earlier, without someone having to tell me first :(

You’re sweet—no worries, I understand! I think it’s ok to dislike things and process it in our own way (like writing about it). We all need discussion to see different points of view. The SJM fandom certainly has that going for it!

Anyhoo, I love the design of the new book. The art style is beautiful, I just don’t feel the new design quite matches the vibe of the books.

I’ve seen a lot of hate towards the new covers. But please remember this: That design was done by an artist. A real person. Who put a lot of love, time and energy into it. And whilst we, as a fandom, may not believe it’s the best match for the SERIES, please don’t bash the art in general. There’s nothing wrong with the art. And the artist may be able to see your comments. So PLEASE PLEAAASE remember that before you post your opinion.

The design could work SO WELL for other series. Unfortunately, A Court of Thorns and Roses isn’t one of them. That’s on Bloomsbury. Not the artist.

I’m only upset because they don’t appear to be releasing ACOFS with the OLD covers either. Which would mean re-buying all the books in the new covers so that they matched and looked good on my bookcase. And Bloomsbury KNOW how obsessed bookworms are with having matching covers. So THAT feels like a major money grabbing scheme tbh.

Donald Trump announced today that he is adding another twenty candidates to potentially fill any vacancies on the Supreme Court. I’m sure everyone on this list is an awful human being and a danger to society, but I want to highlight three of these new candidates:

Justice Ginsburg recently announced that she’s battling cancer — her and Justice Breyer, two of the only four remaining left-leaning justices on the court, are both in their 80s. If Trump is reelected, he will almost certainly be able to replace the two of them with far-right conservatives who will be a danger to minorities — and these men aren’t just dangerous because of their values, but because of their relatively young ages. You need to know that these are lifetime appointments to the Court and Cruz, Cameron, and Cotton have an average age of 42. Again, for context, RBG is 87 years old. Trump could singlehandedly guarantee a 7-2 conservative Supreme Court for decades to come, leaving lasting damage long after he leaves the White House — damage that will affect us, our children, and our children’s children.

This election is not the time for complacency. Almost 200,000 Americans have died because of our President’s incompetence. If he is reelected, I can’t even begin to fathom what could happen to our country. You need to vote this election and make sure that these monsters never find themselves in a position of such power. Vote for Biden.
