Tumblr In Action

@tomblr-in-action / tomblr-in-action.tumblr.com

Named after the subreddit r/tumblrinaction, I feature some of its content and add my own thoughts on the matter. I also tend to queue tons of asks/posts at once so if an ask doesn't seem to make sense, it's probably because i took forever to actually post it.

Getting upset over someone having preferences is foolish to me. If its not a taboo to prefer one bodytype over the other or wanting to date a specific race then why is it transphobic to not want to have sex with someone that has genitalia different than your own. Are gay men suddendly transphobic because they don't want to sleep with someone that has a vagina?

Regretfully, many people would actually answer your last sentence with yes. But I agree with you. Sexuality is about SEX. Your gender and your sex don’t have to match but if it’s valid to prefer penis on penis or vagina on vagina sex over penis on vagina sex, then if you can’t have the kind of sex I want it shouldn’t matter what your gender is.

STOP SHAMING PEOPLE FOR SEXUAL PREFERENCES. Wow I can’t believe I had to say that in current year to people who probably say that to a lot of other people for different reasons.

Also, the best explanation for the difference between bi and pan i've heard is that pan people don't really care about distinctions between different genders - i think it's supposed to be that with bi, you like particular things about one gender, and other things about other genders, whereas with pan you like the same things about all genders. I'm not really that sure (I heard this a while ago), but what it boils down to is that they are synonyms with slightly different connotations

Yeah, that sounds about what I’ve heard. It’s kind of hard to wrap one’s brain around from a practical standpoint but I can at least explain it to others.

But tbh as long as your sexuality actually has something to do with human sexuality I’ll accept it without thinking twice about it. Just drives me nuts when people try tout things like sapiosexual as being in the same line as hetero/homo/bi sexuality. It just means you find intelligence sexy. It doesn’t tell me what genitals you’re into.

"bi people get accused of transphobia" when? I only ever see posts about people explaining why bi people aren't transphobic - i.e. that it doesn't mean you aren't attracted to trans/NB people (this is only my own personal experience though so take it with a grain of salt).

I think it’s something like bi people are cisnormative because if you’re sexually attracted to transgender people it makes you pansexual? Or something like that. Idk there’s like this weird dual mentality where transgender people simultaneously are and aren’t a separate gender from male and female depending on the argument the person wants to make. But I’ve been gone for awhile so maybe the world has changed.

The water fountain post has me so confused. This isn't even a "disabled people" water fountain. It IS usually specifically for people in wheelchairs, that's why it is lower and more accessible, just like when you have ramps next to stairs to access certain places. Being autistic doesn't keep you from using the regular water fountain ffs. Would that idiot sit on the handicapped spot in a bus and think they have the right to ? I would bet they self-dx their autism as well given the attitude.

It’s been literal weeks since I’ve been on tumblr but I actually remember the post you’re talking about without having to look it up. And yes, I agree. A lot of accesibility features were built with physical disabilities in mind, especially those requiring a wheelchair. Which is why the symbol became so universal in the first place!

I don't know if you post such things, but there is this FB page Vellum and Vinyl which only has screenshots of useless drama/whiny situations posted on Tumblr. The admit is a complete moron (called a more muscular woman a man because she disagreed with a post, despite the admin having 543984389 posts from Tumblr about breaking gender stereotypes and assuming someone's gender). I tried reporting the page for various things, but that hellhole has too many fans for FB to care.

Well, Tumblr drama isn’t really my thing. It implies a level of emotional investment in the platform that I don’t have. But the whininess sounds interesting... though it also sounds like the page admin is a few rocks short of an avalanche.

Facebook tends to be more liberal though, or at least that’s the impression I’ve gotten. So I’m surprised that the page didn’t get taken down.

why is "death fat" even okay in their mind like thats so disrespectful too its like calling someone with cancer "mr going-to-die-from-cancer"

Uhh... Death Fat sounds really hardcore? Maybe? Idk the whole idea of classes of fat people is kind of... offensive with the way they apply it. Because it’s like “Oh you must be at least THIS fat to be oppressed!”

Like... they’re GATEKEEPING being fat! It’s not enough to be fat according to skinny people... you have to be fat according to fat people too. It boggles the mind.

How was the con?

The con was good except that someone broke my game setup... It’s paid for itself a couple times over in con passes at least, so I’m not too annoyed. Other than that, had a great time!

I’ll probably stop doing this soon so what next?

Alright long story short there are just a lot of things in my life that I’d prefer to prioritize over this blog, and it’s becoming increasingly obvious to me that I don’t have the time or motivation that I used to to continue doing this. That being said, there are a couple of ways I could go about this

1. Reduce my queue from 5 per day to 1 or 2. This way if I have the errant desire to make some posts, I can queue them and still probably have posts for a long time. The advantage to this method is a steady supply of content, while the disadvantage is that the content you see may be outdated (and asks will likely take forever go be answered).

2. Keep my queue as it is and if it runs out it runs out. If I get the errant desire to make some more posts, it will essentially be a “burst” of content. The advantage to this method is that there will be more posts and they will probably be more topical, but there may be longer content droughts when I’m not as motivated to post.

Which would you guys prefer, or do you have another idea?

Either or, although I’m fond of option 1. I don’t mind if content is out of date because I don’t visit the reddit subforum regularly.

congratulations, you are the only person to respond so I’ll go with option 1!

Just got back from a con today so I may queue some content tonight.
