Welcome to the Ninjago Events blog! Here, we’ve compiled all the Ninjago events (to our knowledge), organizing them for easy access. We will reblog prompt lists, rules, and other information pertaining to Ninjago events. Please @ us if you wish to have any event or event adjacent activity (collabs, DTIYS, etc) reblogged (it does not have to be your event)

Come join our Discord server here, where you can find more detailed lists of all events–past, current, and future! (Or just a place to chill and talk...we don’t even talk about Ninjago half the time :P)

OR, if you prefer to just add the google calendar, you can find the calendar here.

Current Events

  • The current events section is currently down. Right now, only one person is running this blog and he is trying his best to reblog events but does not have the energy to make detailed lists anymore.

We are looking for some mods to help out! Please dm @tokaywineandcheese for more information.

Claiming is now open!

It's the time we've all been waiting for: claiming for fic fest is now open! You have from now until June 30th, 2024 at 11:59 pm to claim, write and submit your fic to the collection :D Claiming operates on a first come/first serve basis, so head on over and secure your favorite!

How claiming works:

  1. Peruse the prompts in the ao3 collection
  2. click "Claim" on the prompt you want to claim (you only get one, unless you're self-prompting!)
  3. submit this google form within 24 hours of claiming your prompt through ao3 to secure your claim (for both submitted and self-prompts)
  4. write! along with your submission following the prompt you've chosen, it will also need to be SFW and 500 words or over upon submission.

Part of the fun in fic fest is the anonymity until reveals! In that vein, you can share snippets of what you're working on as long as it doesn't give away what prompt you've chosen :) Feel free to tag this blog in them; I love to see wips!

For a more detailed breakdown on how to claim a prompt, along with information on self-prompting, continue reading below.

Ninjago Oc Secret Summer 2024 Sign Ups

Alrighty folks, the time has come to sign up for the 2024 Ninjago Oc Secret Summer! Please read the information provided in the description of the form; additional information will be provided upon receiving your assignment.

As of the forms being released, you will have until April 21st to fill your form out.

Expect to receive your assignments within the week after the form closes. After receiving your assignment you will have until June 23rd to June 30th to finish you piece, with a late period extending from July 1st to July 7th.

Do not post your piece until the designated posting days.

There’s no rule against signing up for both sections; however I do ask you to consider the time provided and how long it will take you to finish a piece.

If you have any questions feel free to reach out!

Important Info Regarding the Forms: I am using google forms for this event; unfortunately, in order to allow documents to be submitted, the forms have to require participants to sign in with an email.

The forms are still entirely anonymous however; they are not permitted to collect your email (meaning: I can't see it! It is still entirely private).

I’ll be tagging some people who showed interest; if for whatever reason you are unable to sign up or no longer have an interest in signing up that is fine.

Tagging (under the cut because tumblr was being weird and I needed to make a bunch of awkward spaces that made the post way to long)

Hi everyone! To kick off our seasonal Morro events, our first one will be the spring collab event!

This year our theme is flowers/flower language.

Here's how it works: Sign-ups for a flower will occur in April (though this is not a deadline and you may continue to sign up for flowers in May).

Please note: you do NOT have to sign-up in order to participate in this event but it does help provide us a way to see who is doing what and help participants find others to collab with!

Participants will then create a work (or multiple if they wish!) that fits the theme/flower they chose and this will be posted any time from May 19-31. Anything goes--fics, art, gifs, cosplay, etc. As this is a "collab" event, we do encourage participants to collab with others and try their hand at any flowers that have not been claimed yet! You're also more than welcome to do multiple flowers/works!

For posting, simply post on tumblr any time from May 19 to 31 and tag this blog and we will reblog it here!

Rules:

  • No hate (racism, transphobia, homophobia, Islamophobia, etc) will be allowed, except in the context of exploring those themes.
  • OCs, AUs, and other non-canon content will be allowed.
  • Please tag/disclose all adult content properly so we may do the same when we reblog it here (we will allow adult content but we strongly encourage you to keep it rated T as the Ninjago fandom contains a wide range of ages).

Any other questions or concerns? Feel free to drop by and ask us! This really isn't an event with a lot of strict rules as long as you have fun and respect others :)

And as always, come talk to us in the Morrotober discord server!

Calling all Morro fans!

The Morrotober blog is now excited to present 3 additional events that we will be hosting from now on, for as long as we have participants :)

In addition to the classic Morrotober event, which will be hosted in the fall/October as usual, we now have one event for each of the four seasons. All of these events will be open events, meaning anyone can join. There will be no applications, though some of these events have sign-ups to help facilitate the process.

Please check out the details below and we hope you'll join us for these events when the time comes!

Spring Event

The spring event will take place some time March to May of the year. It will be a themed collab event, not necessarily spring themed.

A theme will be decided each year of the event and participants will create content focused on that event. Art, fics, gifs, cosplay, etc will be allowed--basically anything goes as long as it fits the theme!

A sign up sheet will be created so everyone may see what others are doing and sign up for slots to create a range of differing works that fit the theme. Participants are encouraged to work with each other (thus a "collab" event) and there are no limits on how many people may work on a topic or how many works someone creates.

Summer Event

The second seasonal event takes place around June to August. This event will be an exchange event, typically between an artist and a writer, but not always. Two participants will be paired up and take turns creating a work based on a theme or prompt (similar to big bang/reverse big bang events).

Fall Event

Of course, our fall event is Morrotober itself, which will take place in October every year. Please check out the masterpost for more information on this event.

Winter Event

Our final seasonal event is the winter secret santa, which will take place around November-February (likely sign-ups in November and posting in January, to avoid scheduling conflicts with the typical secret santa events that crop up in December). Please note this event will be done through drawnames.

(And yes, I know some of these seasonal event descriptions are vague, but that's because each event has it's own specific rules. For instance, this year's spring collab event may be slightly different from next year's and so on, so only general descriptions have been given for each event)

Welcome to Ninjago Fic Fest!

What's a fic fest?

A fic fest is an event not unlike a secret santa in which fic writers create a story based on someone else’s prompt. The twist here is that instead of some mod assigning you a recipient, you get to choose the prompt that you write! Prompts are submitted by the community (writers and non-writers alike) on ao3, and over a period of two months writers will create a fic based one of those prompts.

How do I participate?

There are two ways to participate in the fest: prompting and claiming/writing. No sign up is required for prompting, and you can decide at any time within that two-month period whether or not you're going to write. You can participate in just prompting, just claiming/writing, or both!

heyo ninjago writers!! i put out a mini interest check about this a bit ago, but now it's the new year and it's time to get down to business :D

Find the actual interest check here! Or if you picked "what the heck is a fic fest" up there, read on for more information.

What is a Fic Fest?

A fic fest is an event not unlike a secret santa, except that instead of a mod assigning you a recipient, you get to choose the prompt that you write for. The event and all of its prompts are hosted on ao3. Anyone can submit prompts, not just writers, and you don't need to write for the event to submit a prompt or vice versa.

Traditionally, a fic fest is for fanfic writers. However, if artists are interested in the event, it could be neat to have them too!

So what's a prompt look like?

Prompts can be as open-ended or detailed as you like! Typically they include a character or two, but you don't have to. The more open-ended a prompt, though, the more likely that someone might claim it. Prompts can be submitted anonymously or not to the ao3 collection once it's made and prompting opens.

There is also an option to self-prompt, which is where you write your own idea that fits the theme (if any) and submit it with the others to the collection.

How long does it go for?

That's one of the questions in the interest check! Typically, though, a fic fest schedule looks something like this:

  • prompting (2-4 weeks)
  • claiming and writing (1-4 months)
  • fic reveals (1-3 days)
  • author reveals (1-3 days, a week or so after fic reveals)

What happens if I need to drop out?

It's super easy to drop out of the event! Since you're not assigned a recipient, there's no one you're letting down by dropping out since there's no guarantee that any prompt will get filled; most won't, in fact, just by the nature of the event.

There you have it! Please reblog if you're interested at all, or even if you're not - I'd love to get the word out. More details and a solid schedule will come once things are a little more ironed down; if you'd like a ping for updates, you can leave your username at the end of the form :D Any further questions can be directed to my ask box.

Ninjago Calendar Notifications Form

Hello, Ninjago Calendar folks and those interested!

Have you ever wanted to join the Ninjago calendar project but keep missing the sign ups time? Or just want some way to keep up with the Ninjago Calendar project outside of checking the blog frequently?

Well, you're in luck! You can now fill out our Ninjago Calendar Notifications Form to "subscribe" to the Ninjago Calendar notifications so that you won't miss them anymore!

If you wish to "unsubscribe", you may do so at any time--simply let us know or fill out the same form linked above and we'll take you off. (This form has both "subscribe" and "unsubscribe" questions).

What kind of notifications will I be receiving?

These notifications will be for the main announcements which are applicable for everyone (so you won't receive anything to do with the project checkpoint deadlines).

Things like:

  • Sign-ups open reminders
  • Sign-ups close reminders (including 2 week, 1 week, 3 day before closing type of reminders)
  • Contributor results announcements (including the reminder for all accepted contributors to join the server)
  • Calendar release announcements (including the cover art reveal and the countdowns)
  • Announcements about updates in the timelines/information posts for the project
  • Interest checks (when applicable--this will be rare)

Please note that although we will be checking this form regularly, that does not mean extremely frequently, so we may occasionally miss your "subscribing" or "unsubscribing" for one or two posts. (Though we will do our utmost best to check these before making a notifications post/email).

Thank you for your continued interest in the Ninjago Calendar project, everyone!
