You know, this is why content creators end up abandoning their works, right?

80 likes compared to 10 reblogs means that only 12% of people decided that what you did is worth showing other people.

If you like the thing, reblog it. You don’t even have to add tags, just spread it so that a) other people can see it, and b) the creator gets recognition for what they did.

Obviously, those numbers are never going to match, but the divide should not be that huge.

It’s even more important right now, because tumblr is garbage and they’ve stopped allowing anything with an outside link from appearing in tags. Writers/artists cannot tag things to their twitter/store/writing website. That can cause a significant drop in views, especially for newer creators.

Like… we aren’t asking for much. A few reblogs. Reviews/comments. No creator should have to beg for that much.

Its whole purpose and systematics are based on that fact. What you do is killing the site.

i also just want to add that 90% of the people who say “reblogs don’t matter. we owe you nothing.” aren’t content creators and therefore have no idea. 

sure, you don’t owe us anything. but don’t be surprised when we stop making shit for you to look at, read, appreciate, or ~share~ via other platforms. 

fact is, you’re on tumblr in the first place because you’re interested in this kind of content so its kind of dumb to act like ~oh we don’t owe you anything~ bc sis, this content is what makes tumblr what it is. 

and again, if you didn’t think so - you’d instead be on twitter or instagram.

wanna know the reason i gave up posting my writing on tumblr? now you see it. at least on AO3 i get some comments. yall have no idea how heartbreaking it is to put something you’re really proud of on here and get like… 20 likes and no reblogs. because it feels like not a single person cares enough or enjoyed it enough to share it and show other people. and that hurts, man, we put heart into these things

A/N: I hope you guys like it!! Finally wrote something less than 5k. It has been a while for sure. 

Your hand begins cramping as you finish writing the report for asshole number one Min Yoongi. Writing a report is easy, but having to write it by hand is what makes you want to strangle him. The tiny blue desk clock strikes 11 pm and once again you lose out on the opportunity to live your life. At this point, you have lost track of how many times you have stayed late at the office while your friends enjoy their weekends with dinners, movies and activities. Sometimes it’s so bad that you video call them just as you’re about to drift off to sleep.

You don’t even bother to hope to go home early anymore. Min Yoongi always finds ways to make you stay late with him. You went through the five stages of grief at first because you felt your life was being taken away from you. You even thought of threatening him with a lawsuit because he couldn’t make you work over 40 hours a week. When you did he was quick to turn the tables by offering you overtime pay– and not a measly sum. It was money you couldn’t turn away. So, once again you let yourself fall prey to his actions.

Slowly but surely you began getting used to this so-called “routine”. Gradually, hours started fading into one another until one day you became so habituated with staying late (and to the mind-boggling pay) that Yoongi didn’t even have to come to your cubicle to hand you anything. You already asked him in the morning for your evening assignment. One would think this would be a hint for him– but no. The man was as clueless as one could be.
