WARNINGS AT WAVERLY ACADEMY REMASTERED

NEW LOCATIONS

Expanded outdoor area features a garden and a forest. Nancy uses footprints in the snow to track the secret society through the forest to the cabin where Rita Hallowell lived while she taught at Waverly. At the cabin, Nancy finds clues and artifacts indicating where Poe’s last works are hidden.

NEW CHARACTER

Paige participates beyond being a faceless RA and becomes an active character. In the remaster, Paige is an interactive character who Nancy discovers is on academic probation, but the reason why is shrouded in mystery – though the girls in the group chat have plenty of ideas. In an attempt to regain favor with the school, Paige is intent on discovering the identity of the Black Cat. This complicates Nancy’s mission when Paige begins to suspect Becca Sawyer’s involvement and tries to catch her in a lie of her own.

NEW INTERACTIONS

The Blackwood Society meets more than once.

A colony of feral cats lives at the Hallowell cabin, and Nancy can interact with them.

To fill a plot hole, at the end of the game Corine blackmails Izzy by forcing her to deliver the final Black Cat note in order to get her paper back.

Add an option at the end where Nancy can “vote” on the valedictorian to unlock a graduation speech unique to each candidate.

PLS THIS IS SO GOOD

Imagine if you will...

The phone rings and the boys clamor over each other because they know it’s Nancy on the other end.

Joe gets to it first somehow and is in the middle of saying hello when Frank grabs the phone and literally sits on his brother, nearly suffocating and smooshing his brother in the process while now talking to Nancy.

“....Frank was that Joe earlier?”

“No. Why?”

“...help!”

“Are you sitting on your brother?”

“..no. It’s just a very loud cushion!” He moves harder and you just hear a squeak.

Gertrude’s voice from the kitchen, “Frank, get off your brother!”

Yanno, I really hope Frank and Joe appreciated Nancy walking into the dining car, climbing up onto the table in front of them, grabbing a gemstone from the ceiling light, and walking away without a word.

You know, I was thinking about the original sck the other day and, faults aside, we as a fandom don’t talk about how hard that game went. Like think about it, you’re Her Interactive, you got the Nancy Drew licence so you want to draw in the ten-ish year old girl crowd and (more importantly) their parents so what do you do? You make your first game about Nancy solving a teen kid’s murder and threatening the culprit with a gun! Like seriously, modern day ND games would never.

RIGHT!!?! Aside from the fact that the plot of the original SCK treats us so so right I also really like the characters in it. they’re all way more likable in the original imo.

YESSS this is so true. I also love the fact that according to Megan Gaiser the game was expected to not do so well, basically fail, and the executives would tell them dumb crap like, “it’s a game for girls. You need to make it pink or they won’t buy it.” But instead they stuck to the plan and made a murder mystery game where serious topics like steroids, drug running, again MURDER, breaking a window to get into the teacher’s lounge and of course the end game scene where you pull the gun on the culprit.

Also I would just like to point out that Connie not only makes a point about the fact that she won a male’s judo competition (disguised like the awesome gal she is) but she mentions the fact that the reward money was more in the men’s competition than the women’s. Like go off sis. Also the fact that she won that money fair and square and is using it to pay for college like wow we stan-

While it’s really old and definitely has it’s flaws, (namely I just wanted more of the game) it was a really good starting point and it succeeded in what it was suppose to do. It got HeR off the ground and prompted 32 (ahem…33…) games. That’s no small feat.

okay I’m done now just very passionate about this and SCK2 makes my heart hurt

Dave is so boring, when he’s like “yeah Mary doesn’t like the Rawleys” and Nancy is like “ooo do you know WHY?👀” and Dave straight up is like “eh none of my business”

BRO all you do is fix chicken fences all day where else do you find excitement in life??
