Profoundly Immoral and Incredibly Wicked (Part X) → Peter Parker

Summary

After losing hope and everyone he cared for, Peter turns to devilish actions while risking his own life and the life of the one person who hasn't lost hope for him.

Warnings: language, mention of jail, mention of death.

Notes: i decided to go ahead and finish the series for you all. it was kind of bothering me that i had left it on unfinished. sorry to finish it so abruptly, this isn't exactly how i had envisioned how it would end when i started this but i like how it ended so i'll leave it like this. whether i will keep writing or start again in the future, i have no idea. but for now, thank you for reading! x

"I'll see you later?" I asked, smiling up at Peter and he nodded, chuckling. "Yeah, yeah. Of course," he said, kissing the top of my forehead. It was late, we had both stayed up late, just talking and eventually watched a movie just like no time had passed between the blip and now.

"I better go," I said and he nodded. "Goodnight," he said and I smiled, leaning up to kiss him. "Goodnight," I whispered before turning around to walk away. As I heard the door shut to his apartment, I smiled, the giddy energy in me pushing as I skipped a little.

"Y/N?" I heard from behind me and I froze. "Uh, yeah!" I asked, turning around. Clint stood there, his arms crossed over his chest. "Listen, before you go on to tell me all about how I shouldn't be doing this or how he'll never change-" I rambled.

"I'm not here to tell you that. Was just looking out for you. I think he can change, with time," he said, walking up to me. "And I came to give take you home, you shouldn't be out alone after what happened," he continued and I smiled. "Thank you," I said.

We got back to the compound, parking the car in garage before heading inside. "Get to bed, you need to rest. According to Bruce, you shouldn't even be up and walking around right now," he said and I sighed. "I know. I'll see you tomorrow then. Goodnight," I said and he nodded, "Goodnight."

I made my way to my room, getting into some comfortable clothing before sliding under the thick, soft covers. I snuggled into my pillow, sighing. Thoughts of Peter traveled through my mind, keeping me up and tiring me at the same time. I pushed the thoughts into the back of my mind. Closing my eyes and slowly falling asleep.

"Guess who?" I heard as hands covered my eyes. "Hmm, I don't know..." I said in almost a sarcastic tone. "How long have we known each other? Can't pick my voice out?" Peter said, removing his hands, sitting infront of me.

"Of course, I know it is you," I said, leaning in, "I was just kidding." I looked down to his lips then up into his eyes before smiling and kissing him. "I missed you," he said, pulling away. "You saw me two days ago," I laughed. He groaned, dramatically. "Two days too long," he said, pulling me into his lap.

"You're crazy," I said, snuggling into his neck. He sighed, hugging me tighter. "Crazy for you," he whispered. I smiled into him.

I woke up slowly, smiling. I stretched, waking my body up a bit more. I hadn't slept that good in years. The dream made me feel content and full of hope. I wondered what it would've been like if we had never drifted apart.

I shook the thought out of my head, focusing on getting up and out of bed. I went to bathroom, quickly washing my face and started to brush my teeth. As I vigorously brushed my teeth, my phone rang.

I quickly spit in the sink and rinsed my mouth. "Hello?" I asked, picking up the phone and answering it. "Hi, my name's James. I'm with the NYPD. Is this Y/N Stark?" the man asked. I furrowed my eyebrows with confusion. Why would the NYPD be calling me?

"Um, yes, this is she. Is everything alright?" I asked. "Of course. You're not in any trouble. You're listed as the primary emergency contact, well the only emergency contact for Peter Parker. He's at the station making some very distraught and unreliable claims. Could you please come down at the station for some questioning as soon as you can?" he asked and I only became more confused.

"Yes, yeah. Of course. I will go down there right now. Is he alright?" I asked. "Yes, he's fine. We will se you soon Miss Stark. Thank you," he said. "Thank you. Goodbye," I said and hung before I could get another response.

Anxiety ran through me as I thought of the many possibilities of why he would be down at the police station and what he might be saying. I quickly got dressed before flying down to the station, knowing that would be faster than taking the car.

I swang the police department doors open, making my way inside swiftly. Whatever Peter was saying could get the both of us in a lot of trouble.

"Ah, Miss Stark. Thank you for coming," the officer said as I walked in but I didn't even look at him. My eyes found Peter first, sitting on the bench with his head down, looking at the floor. "What are you telling them?" I asked him, bluntly and he didn't even look up. I sighed and smiled to the officier. "So, what are these claims?" I asked. I was tired and wanted to get answers. What could he have possibly told them?

"Well, Mr. Parker has been claiming that he is Spiderman. Do you know anything of this?" he asked. My heart was pounding but I kept a calm expression on my face. "No, no. He definitely isn't, sir. Trust me. I've know Peter for a very long time and there is no way that he's Spiderman," I explained and the officer smiled.

"So this is all just a misunderstanding?" he asked, raising his eyebrows and I nodded. He sighed, "Alright, well you can go home. Will you be giving him a ride or should I call him a cab?" he asked and I shook my head, "I can take him. Thank you!"

He nodded and walked away, leaving Peter and I alone. I stood, baffled and just staring at Peter, whose eyes were still on the ground. I crouched down as if I was talking to a child and looked up i to his eyes.

"What were you thinking?" I whispered and he finally looked at me. There was a long silence before he spoke. "I wanted to get what I deserve. For hurting you, for hurting others, stealing, everything," he explained and I sighed. "And what do you think you deserve?" I asked.

"Jail time. I should be sent to prison. I've almost killed you. I have killed you. I've done so many terrible things-" he started crying to ramble but I cut him off, placing my hands to his cheeks, pulling his lips to mine. I kissed him, softly.

He didn't kiss back at first but soon enough started to move his lips against mine, grabbing my face and carresing my cheek. I pulled away from him, looking at his face. His eyes were still closed and he was just breathing. I leaned forward, resting my nose against his.

"I forgive you. Please, come home. You know who you are, Peter. I know who you are. You were grieving. It's all okay," I whispered and he nodded. "Can we go home?" he asked and I nodded. "Yeah, come on."

"I could swing us to the compound and drop you off there. I think it would be better than flying with what has happened with your health and everything," he said. I looked to him, confused. "You don't want to stay?" I asked and he shrugged. "Well, I don't want to impose or anything," he said and I shook my head, "No, it's okay. I want you to stay. Can you?" I asked and he smiled as he nodded.

He wrapped his arm around my waist as I held I wrapped my arms around his neck. "Hold on tight, angel," he whispered into my hair and I pushed my face into his neck.

When we got back to the compound, I grabbed his hand, leading him in. No one was home, which was surprising as someone was always here. "You know I'm okay, right? We're okay," I said and he sighed. "I'm just scared and I've definitely pushed it with everything I've done," he sighed and I shook my head. "I'm still standing, aren't I?" I asked and he laughed a bit.

We walked back to my room and sat on the bed beside each other. There was a silence before either one of us spoke. "Peter, what is the plan moving forward, for us?" I asked and he sighed, "I still love you, Y/N. I wish we could go back to the way things used to be. When all was perfect, before everything," he said and I felt my heart jump. I smiled, "Me too."

"So, what should we do about that?" he asked, smiling to me. I climbed into his lap and his hands rested on my hips. He looked up to me, smiling but with a surprised expression on his face. "I just know that I love you and I really want to do this," I said, leaning forward, kissing him passionately.

He pulled away, smiling while chuckling a bit. "I want you. I want us," he said and I smiled. "Then, it'll be us."

"Dr. B-Banner, I don't know what to do," Peter said, carrying me into the compound. "Please," he sobbed, his voice cracking. "Here, I got her," Bruce said, taking me from Peter and taking me into the med lab, still unconscious. He placed me onto the cushioned table as Peter cried in the corner.

"What happened?" Bruce asked Peter, as he checked my vitals. "I-It was my fault. It's all my fault. I was drunk and stupid and out of it and I shot a web gre-grenade at her. I'm so sorry. Fuck, it's all my fault," Peter sobbed, crying into his hands then lifting his arms, pulling at his hair.

"No breathing, no pulse. Starting two ventilations," Bruce said, putting a mask over my nose and mouth, pumping air into my lungs. He pointedly the scissors sitting on the table, signaling Peter to hand them to him. He cut the shirt, exposing my chest and my bra. "Stand clear," he said, charging the ECG electrolodes before sending a high-current shock through my body. I jolted up as Peter covered his mouth and squeezed his eyes shut, looking away from me.

"Compressions," Bruce said aloud, as a machine started to pump my chest. "Please, please, please," Peter said from afar. "Delivering shock," Bruce said, as a surge of electricity ran through my body. I shot up, my eyes widening as I breathed hard.

"Thank god," Bruce muttered as Peter rushed towards me, pulling me in a tight hug. "I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry. Please don't leave me," he cried into my neck. Everything was happening too fast and the room started to spin.

"Alright, give her some space," Bruce told him as Peter let go of me. "I'm gonna need to run some tests. I'm going to put an IV in you and then you," he said, pointing to Peter, "have some things to explain."

I didn't have the strength to speak as I just leaned back, hitting the pillow. My eyelids dropped a little as Bruce inserted an IV into the vein in my arm. "How are you feeling?" he asked and I nodded. "Okay. I'm going to bring you some water and I'll be right back," he said leaving the room but not before glaring at Peter as he passed him.

"H-how are you feeling?" he asked. I swallowed, trying to coat my throat to hydrate it. It felt scratchy and dry. "Tired," I replied, my voice crumbly and weak.

"I am a-so s-s-" he tried to say but stuttered. "I know, Peter. It's okay, I'm fine. Thank you," I said, struggling to speak still. "But it really isn't. I should have never pulled that on you, or anyone really. I was just stupid and drunk and-" he rambled but I interrupted him. "Pete, it's okay," I spoke softly. Before he could say anything else, Bruce walked in the glass of water.

"This should help your throat. Does everything feel alright?" he asked me and I nodded, smiling softly. "What exactly happened?" I asked him and Peter looked to ground, nervously and guiltily.

"You went into cardiac arrest for I believe about 40 or so seconds but that was only from the time I did primary assessment to when I revived you," he told me as I drank some water. "Basically, I died?" I asked. I knew completely what he meant but it was hard to wrap my head around the concept. "Basically, yes."

The reality that one wrong move and I really could be gone bad slowly become a concern to me. I had died for who knows how long. Most likely longer than 40 seconds which is already a pretty long time.

"Peter, I think we need to talk," he said and Peter nodded, nervously and followed Bruce out the door to talk privately. I knew Bruce was furious but was sure he would t hurt him, right? At least I knew he wouldn't have before the confrontation him and I got into to. Either way, Peter was strong and knew how to fight. He should be fine.

I didn't see either of them until the next day, as I awoke.

Bruce came back in but without Peter. "Where'd he go?" I asked and Bruce sighed, "I sent him home. He's done enough already." I scoffed, "What do you mean by that?" I asked. He looked up at me. "He killed you, Y/N. Not almost killed you, killed you. He's done quite enough," he told me.

"You don't think I know that? He's trying, okay? Plus, I'm fine now. I'm alive. He brought me here so that I could be taken care of. You had no right-"I said to him, furiously but was cut off. "No, you have no right. You're lucky I'm not taking your suit away. If Tony was here, he would-" he started. "Yeah but he's not, isn't he? And I'm an adult and you are definitely not my father," I told him, trying to raise my voice as loud as I could but it still quivered.

"You're right, I'm not but I promised him that I would take care of you if something happened to him and something did happen so I'm going to look out for you whether you like it or not," he said. "I can take care of myself," I told him, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Well, obviously you can't because you have been in this med bay on the brink of death, this month, more than your dad ever was," he said and I didn't respond. He waited a moment before sighing, walking out of the room.

I waited a few minutes just in case he came back but he didn't. I got up, sneaking to my room to throw on a sweatshirt and some shorts. Then I carefully made my way to the garage, taking one of my dad's old cars, directing it to Peter's apartment.

On the way, my heart beat was rapid. I didn't know whether or not it was because of what had happened yesterday or if it was the anxiety of seeing Peter again.

As I arrived, I let out a breath, twiddling my fingers. "We are here, Ms. Stark," PERCY saïd through the speakers of the car. "Yes, I know. Thank you," I said, shaking my head before opening the door and heading up to Peter's apartment.

"Y/N," I heard him call out from down the hallway. He was leaving his apartment. "Pete, thank god! I was hoping to run into you. I really want to talk. About everything," I told him, maybe a little too fast. "I actually can't. Sorry," he said quickly, not looking at me. He started to walk passed me but I grabbed his arm.

"Peter, please," I said, and he turned to me. His eyes met mine, trying to plead for him to stay with my expression. It was silent for a moment, then he sighed, "You shouldn't even be around me, Y/N."

"What does that mean?" I asked, furrowing my brows, looking at him confused. He wasn't making any sense. "How many times have I almost killed you? Or actually killed you? Don't you understand?" He asked me, starting to raise him voice. so stepped back a little, surprised by his outburst.

"No, I don't understand. Yes, you have hurt me in fights. Yes, what happened yesterday was bad but I believe in you. I can help you get better," I told him as his face started to turn red, veins in his neck started to pop out as he tensed. "I'm not getting any better, it just keeps on getting worse and worse. I've hurt you so much. I should be the dead one, not you!" he yelled and my eyes widdened, "Peter-".

"Don't. I'm sorry," he said, softening up. "Please don't be sorry. You have hurt me, Pete but it's my choice. I know what can or what will happen and I put myself in that position. Don't be sorry. Don't feel like this is your fault. That you don't deserve the world or deserve to live cause you absolutely do," I told him.

"Y/N, it is my fault. I don't deserve to live. Look at what I've done to you," he said, looking down. I lifted his chin with my hand, making him look up at me. "You haven't done anything to me. This is what I've done to myslef. I wouldn't let any of this happen if I don't have hope. If I didn't love you," I said and his eyes brightened, his mouth twitching at the corners.

"You love me?" he asked and I smiled. "I never stopped," I said and his cheeks flushed. He moved closer to me, brushing a strand of hair behind my ear. He leaned and my eyes fluttered closed as he kissed me. I smiled into the kiss, wrapping my arms around his neck, pulling him closer to me.

Summary

Warnings: language, violence, angst

Notes: i'm just posting everything in my drafts. these are the parts i wrote a while ago but never published. the story isn't finished yet and tbh idk if it ever will be. thank u sm for all the support and for reading!!

The light poured into the room, warming my cheeks. I stirred a bit in the small, familiar-but-different bed, pulling the covers closer to me. The space next to me was cold, which used to be warm if I remembered correctly.

I groaned at the feeling. "Peter?" I called out, my voice still raspy. Nothing. Complete silence. I let out a shaky breath. Anxiety raced through me as I sat up, looking around the room to see that he was no where to be seen.

I pushed myself off of the bed, pulling out one of Peter's drawer to put on one of his sweatshirts. I honestly didn't think we would mind. I would always borrow one of his sweatshirts after sleeping over. It made me feel warm, welcome. Not that I ever didn't around Peter.

I opened the door more to the rest of the apartment, scanning for Peter but again, nothing. I shook the dejected feeling from inside me, grabbing the kettle on top of the stove, filling it with water.

I turned the stove on, setting the kettle on to let the water bowl while I grounded up some of the beans. I wondered why Peter had left me alone in his apartment. He would've left me a note, like he used to, just to let me know where he was going and that he would be back but now I didn't know whether or not he was coming back.

I stayed at the apartment for a couple hours, waiting for him to maybe come back with groceries for us to make breakfast together because of the lack of food in his kitchen. I had ransacked his appartement just trying to find anything to eat. Was starving as I hadn't eaten much at all in the past 24 hours.

Eventually, I decided to leave, coming to the conclusion that he wasn't coming back. I wouldn't be surprised if he had been waiting for me to leave, watching from outside of his apartment so he could have some peace. Or maybe do that he didn't have to face me.

I went back to the compound and surprisingly it was empty. Bruce wasn't there researching in the lab. Wanda wasn't sitting her room, playing with the red lighten up energy dancing around her fingers. T'Challa nor Bucky were over visiting from Wakanda. Scott wasn't around either to play guinea pig in Banner's experiments. No one was here. It was quiet.

I looked in the fridge, finding too much food stocked up. Organized but overflowing. Grabbing some eggs and toast, I started on cooking. I was naive to think things would go back to the way they were so soon. Too quick to believe my own expectations.

I ate my breakfast in peace, finally. It hadn't been like this for a very long time. Although it was quiet in the compound, my mind was racing with questions.

Questions about what it would be like now with Peter. His addiction. If he were to go back to being Spiderman or not. Maybe even stay a villain. I wasn't sure.

After eating, I wondered into my dad's lab. Grabbing a couple of tools from the tool box sitting in the table next to me.

"PERCY, pull up a representation of suit Anthony III please," I said to the AI. "Yes, Mes. Stark," he replied, the hologram generating infront of my own eyes. I had started making this suit a while ago to protect myself further from Peter. I had gotten the idea after a particular beating from him.

The newer material stitched into the suit was vibranium, a thin layer of extra armor and protection. "Show me the separation for the wings," I said and the image spun, zooming in on the area.

"Good, thank you. Can you add what we were talking about earlier to those and then add the same straps for the knives at the hip and lower back. Same material," I asked PERCY. "Of course, Mrs. Stark. Same color as well?" it asked.

"Uh , actually why not go a little crazy but keep it in the theme please," I said, swiping down on the hologram, closing out of the design. I wandered around the compound, just me and my thoughts. I was still so confused.

It wasn't until this evening that I gathered the courage to go back to his apartment to confront him about this morning. As I drive there, I played over what I would say and how I would come off. I didn't want to scare him but I couldn't help but be frustrated. As I pulled up to his place, parking and running up to his door, I couldn't move. I was frozen in place before finally finding the strength to knock.

After continuously knocking for longer than I should have, I left. If he really didn't want to talk to me than he didn't have to. As long as he was safe, no longer putting himself and others in harms way and participating in criminal activities, than I was happy. As well as I could be.

While I was walking back to my car, I heard rattling from the alley by his building. My brows furrowed in confusion. I didn't have my suit, nor did I have any weapons but I went in anyway, wondering what was hidden in the shadows.

I walked into the dark alleyway, looking around skeptically. There was more rattling from further down and then glass breaking. "What the fuck," I whispered to myself.

As I got closer, out stumbled Peter, a brown bag in hand, hair disheaveled, eyes red, with a smirk on his face. "Peter," I called out, instantly relaxing as I saw him. "Well, look at you," he chuckled and my brows furrowed. "What the fuck are tou doing here?" he asked.

"I was here to talk to you but you didn't answer when I knocked, now I can see why," I said, motioning to the bag his fist wrapped around. It stunk of cheap whiskey. "You shouldn't have come here. I made that clear when I left you this morning, didn't I?" he asked, brutally. I scoffed. "It didn't seem that this was how you felt yesterday. Especially after you had asked me to stay. And also after that letter you wrote, talking about how you wanted to go, apologizing. Promising you to change your ways, even asking to meet with to talk to me," I reminded him. He rolled his eyes.

"Well, I obviously changed my mind," he scoffed, bring the bottle to his lips, throwing his head back, taking a swig from the contents. "I don't believe that for a second," I said to him, stepping forward. "You better believe it, sweetheart," he seethed at me. "You know better than to call me that, Peter."

"I think you know better than to be out and about in the dark, in closed space, around where I might be," he said, threatenly. "And what does that mean?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest. "I think you already know," he said to me.

"I know you and I know you won't do anything to me. Even if you don't want to or want to hide it, I can see you still care. Care about other people's well-being. People you don't even know. Me," I confronted and he scoffed then chuckled. "That's what you want to believe. You've fooled and brainwashed yourself into believing that I still care, that I'm still good, that I still love you but I don't. Face facts and get over it," he said, taking another sip.

"You know that's not true. You do. You did just as much when my dad died, just as much as when May died. You can't change. You won't. No matter how hard you try, you'll still be the same little boy who went through so much but still tried to help every single person he met and came in contact with because that's who you are. You can't hide the truth, Pete, especially when it's so clear," I said. His face tensed, something in him switching as he snapped.

He stepped forward, swinging at me swiftly. I barely had the time to duck away. "Peter," I called out as he sung out again. He didn't answer me, just grunted, stumbling a bit before shooting a web at me. I leaned back, dodging the sticky web-fluid. "Pete, stop it!" I yelled kicking at him. He grunted, stumbling back as my foot collided with his chest.

"Fucking bitch," he cussed under his breath, tackling me to the ground. "You don't fuvking get to do this to me," he screamed but I didn't know what he was talking about. I flipped us over, pushing myself off of him. "Stop," I told him. He breathed hard, giving up.

I sighed before stepping forward, reaching out a hand to help him up but as I put out my arm, he aimed his webshooter at me and my eyes widdened as I heard the familiar beeping. "Peter! Wait!" I yelled but it the beeping got faster.

A blast blew me back, my back and head scraping against the concrete, heat biting at my skin. All that was heard was a high-pitched ring. My chest became tight as I felt it lounding rapidly in my chest. My breath hitched in my throat as I tried to get air but it seemed like I was drowning. "Peter," I tried to call out but it came out as a whisper as I began to shake.

"Shit," I heard him say but everything was clouded. "Y/N, fuck. Wh-What do I do? Shit!" he cursed as I kept shaking violently.

His hands gripped my shoulders as I felt like I was going to die. White started to bleed into my vision as I no longer could control my body at all. "Fuck, okay, oksy. It'll be okay. I'm here. It's going to be alright, fuck," he said as he picked me up, instantly sobering up a little bit from the situation. His arm wrapped around me tightly as he shot a web up, lifting us off the ground and swinging through Queens.

Just as we got closer to the compound, everything stopped and turned black.

"I don't know, Ned! What if this is just a plan to trap me? He's done shit like this before and now with my condition, I don't know if I can take that risk," I sighed, pacing back and forth in my room as I talked to Ned on the phone. "But what if it isn't? And this is Peter actually apologizing. He needs help, our help!" he tried to convince me through the phone.

"Ned, this isn't safe. I can send him a letter back but meeting him? I don't know if that'll be okay," I said, sitting down on my bed. "What if I meet him first? He's never tried to fight me!" Ned suggested.

"Ned, absolutely not! That's too dangerous," I told him and he sighed through the phone. "But, what if you come with me! I'll meet him and you'll hide and listen in. Step in if anything goes wrong," he suggested.

Ned never stopped and I knew he would never give up on trying to get Peter back to who he used to be. He was more hopeful than I ever was.

"Fuck! Alright, alright. Fine but one wrong move and you're getting out of there, okay? You can go ahead and call him and set up a time. I'm free whenever," I told him, rolling eyes and finally giving in.

"Okay, cool! Cool! I'll let you know," he said and hung up, excitedly. I chuckled a bit, shaking my head before sighing.

Ned called me about an hour later to let me know that he planned on meeting Peter tomorrow by Maple Grove Cemetary. It was sooner than I thought but didn't care much to ask Ned to try to meet him at a later date.

That next day, Ned and I met right before going to the cemetary. "What're you planning on talking about?" I asked him. He shrugged, "I don't know. Probably just try to get some answers out of him. See if he's really trying to turn his life around and stuff like that," he said and I nodded.

"I'll hide up in that tree right over there, alright? Just make sure you stay close in case he does anything," I reminded him and he nodded, "Got it."

I climbed up the tall tree, holding my wings close to my body as the branches scratched and rubbed against them. I tried to let the green leaves cover me as best as they could so that Peter wouldn't see me.

I watched as Peter walked up to meet Ned who was standing just a few rows away from the tree. Ned gave him an awkward hug and Peter stiffened but patted him on the back trying to delude the awkwardness.

Ned looked up at the tree I was in looking around trying spot me as he and Peter walked towards me. "What're you looking at?" Peter asked and Ned shook his head, laughing awkwardly, "Nothing, nothing. Just saw a- a. Uh a bird?"

Peter looked at him suspiciously before shrugging, looking down at his feet. "So I heard you wrote Y/N a letter?" Ned said, breaking the silence. I silently groaned. Why would Ned pick that to start the conversation.

"Uh yeah I did. She mention it?" Peter asked, looking up at him. He shook his head, looking down quickly. "No, no. I saw it when I payed her a visit at the compound. It was after what happened between her and Bruce Banner," he said and I silently cursed him out.

"What happened?" Peter asked, confused. Ned's eyes widdened in surprise, instantly realizing he fucked up. "Oh, no-nothing," he said and Peter glared at him. "Ned-"

"Okay, okay. She went back to the compound after the night you pushed her off the fire escape, outside your apartment. An-and well Dr. Banner had told her to stay inside that night and to take a break and he kind of hulked out and they got into a fight," Ned explained.

"What? Is she okay? Did he hurt her?" Peter asked hurriedly, his voice worried. "Well yeah but she's okay. She healed fast and that was like a long time ago. She's fine," he said, trying to calm him down. Peter nodded.

It was silent for a moment until Peter broke the ice. "I've got something to confess, Ned," he said and Ned looked up at him, confused. "Yeah? What is it?" he asked and Peter sighed. "It's been rough these past several months but I've been getting better. I promise. I've been... um clean for two weeks now. I've been doing it for her," Peter said, quietly, as if he was ashamed. What did he mean by clean?

"Clean from what Peter?" Ned asked and Peter sighed. "I've been drinking. A lot," he said and Ned's face softened. "And I'm getting clean for Y/N. I wanna be strong for her," he said and I felt my cheeks heat up. "But Ned you've got to promise something, alright?" he asked and Ned nodded, "Of course, anything."

"Y/N cannot know. I cannot do that to her right now. You know? I mean, after everything that's happened with her, I-. Please?" Peter pleaded, his face tense and scared. Ned was silent, his eyes shooting to where I was hidden up in the tree.

"Pete-" Ned started but Peter shook his head, grabbing his arm. "Just swear, okay?" Peter asked and Ned sighed before nodding. "Okay."

The conversation went on till Peter said that he had to go back to his apartment. They both said their goodbyes before Peter left. I carefully climbed down from the tree before sighing. "I didn't know.." Ned started but I shook my head.

"It's okay. I didn't either," I told him before wrapping my arms around him, hugging him. "He's going to be okay right?" Ned asked and I pulled away before shrugging, "I don't know. He's strong, he just needs help," I said.

We stood for a moment, keeping our thoughts to ourselves but we both knew what the other was thinking. "I think I should go home," Ned said and I nodded. "Yeah, I think I need to go do something."

Ned gave me a confused look, questioning what my plan was. "It's okay. I've got it. You go ahead and go home. I'll call you later," I said before taking off before Ned had the chance to say anything else. I flew towards Peter's apartment, landing on the roof as I watched him go inside.

I sighed before landing down onto the sidewalk, going up to his apartment. I let out a nervous breath before knocking on his door. The door opened revealing Peter in the same clothes as he was wearing just a bit ago.

"Y/N?" he looked at me confused. "Hey, Pete," I said, quietly, looking up at him. "Wh-What're you doing here?" he asked. "You sent me a letter," I said.

"Yeah, I did," Peter said, awkwardly. There was a small moment of awkward silence. I looked up at Peter and he stared right back at me before I crashed into him, hugging him tightly. He stepped a bit, waiting a few seconds before wrapping his arms around me.

He let out a breath of air, resting his head on top of my head, squeezing me tighter as if he didn't want to let go. I breathed him in, he still smelled the same as he did before everything turned to shit.

"I've missed you so much," I whispered, shakily. Peter cleared his throat, letting go of me and stepping back. "Come in?" he suggested, ignoring my comment from before and I just nodded, walking into his apartment as he stepped aside.

"I was just about to go to sleep," Peter said, closing the door behind me. "This early?" I asked. He never liked to go to bed early, always used to stayed up late doing homework or patrolling. "Yeah, um. Long day," he said.

"Oh, well I can just go, let you sleep," I said, turning around to let myself out. Before, I could Peter stopped me, grabbing my arm. "Wait, Y/N. Could you stay, actually? Please?" Peter asked, pleading like he did earlier today to Ned. I stilled for a moment, surprised before responding. "Yeah, of course," I said, nodding.

"Thank you. You can have t-the bed if you'd like. I can sleep on the couch or the uh- floor. Whatever you like," he said and I shook my head. "No, no. It's okay. I'll take the couch, it's your apartment," I said. "But you're the guest. I begged you to stay," he countered and I laughed.

"Peter, why don't we both take the bed. Is that okay with you? It's not like we haven't before," I said and Peter tended up, his eyes widening before nodding. "Y-Yeah, sure," he said, nervously leading me to his room.

"Do you need anything? Water? Change of clothes?" he asked and I shook my head. "I'm okay, thank you though," I said and he nodded before pulling back my sheets, gesturing for me to get under them and lay down. I slid under the soft, familiar sheets before scooting over to make room for Peter on the small bed.

Peter sat down, turning off the light, the room going dark. The only source of light in the room was from the window. He laid on the edge of the bed, careful to not get too close to me. "You know, you can get closer than that, Pete. I'm not a bomb," I laughed and Peter chuckled nervously before moving closer to me.

There was a moment of silent for a while before I lifted my arm, hugging him closer to me. "Is this okay?" I asked and he nodded quickly as he cuddled into me. "Thank you," he whispered and I smiled to myself. "Thank you, Pete."
