israel has been bombing residential towers, refugee camps, media offices and now there are reports that it plans to bomb two UN run schools in palestine. reminder that many ppl who have been rendered homeless by these bombings have found shelter in these schools. palestine's hospitals are overflowing, their top doctors are being killed in these bombings, and the pandemic is still raging while israel is blocking humanitarian aid as well. these are war crimes. this is a genocide.

PLEASE do not stop talking about Palestine and spreading information, especially from Palestinians, whether it's here or on other social medias you use more often. Palestinians themselves have said over and over again that spreading this on social media helps, I've seen some people say that it feels different this time now that the world is starting to hear their voices. and please donate if you are able to

I used to do community service at a community breakfast, we’d go to the local Safeway and get all their stale bread, the local bakery for their stale baked goods and whatnot.

They throw away so much food it’s ridiculous, I’m glad someone finally created a program like this!

In Canada we have flash food, I dont know if it’s just confined to loblaw stores but you can get food that stores have to throw out for dirt cheap

@ my USA people you don’t know how to protest or perhaps you don’t have the opportunity to be vocal about your opposition to apartheid and genocide? until may 25th, call your congressmen and your senators, email them, write to them relentlessly every day as much as possible to stop this arm sale. from what i’ve gathered from this article it may be nonbinding but this is a call from Lara @ gazangirl on instagram, an international lawyer who’s been trying day in and day out to mobilise people behind the palestinian cause and who’s been heavily and systematically censored by instagram. it’s an opportunity to do something useful and make your stance heard. encourage ppl around u to do the same and raise hell against the biden administration to let them know you won’t stand for your money being used to participate in the occupation and ethnic cleansing in occupied palestine, the open-air prison of gaza included. PLEASE.

the reason why you have until may 25th is because the congress was notified on MAY 5th of this weapons sale, effectively starting the 20-day period to object to it. time is of the essence.

Genuine question, though I don’t know if this is the right place to ask. How would I go about doing this? Do I call my representatives from both the Senate and House and say something like:

“Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [MY TOWN]. I’m calling because I oppose the Biden administration’s weapons sale to Israel. I urge [REPRESENTATIVE] to oppose the weapons sale to Israel. Congress must block this sale in order to meaningfully protect the lives of the population of Palestine.”

Does that work or would I have to be more specific?

Hi, here are some pointers to add to what you wrote:

1. Start by addressing the representative by name

2. Mention the crime of apartheid committed by Israel

3. Mention the attack on press freedom that occured when Israel levelled the building hosting the Associated Press and Al Jazeera as an attempt to censor fact-based reporting in Gaza

4. Mention that your tax-payer money is being used to massacre civilians with 200 civilians, including whole families

5. End with a call to action: “I urge you to make a stand against the sale of weapons to Israel and bring an end to the massacre of innocents, including women and children as young as one year old”

I’m not a pro but I’m sure there are a lot of examples online so don’t hesitate to look on google for some inspiration. And thank you for doing this!!

i don’t think enough Americans understand how literal it is when Palestinians describe what is happening to them. settler colonialism is not being used metaphorically. having their homes stolen is not just what it feels like it’s what it is.

Palestinians are literally kicked out of their homes and their homes are given to settlers. if you’re a jewish american you could do this tomorrow with the full backing of two settler colonial states, Israel and America.

the IDF act like personal security for settlers, and for the Palestinians they are the occupying army ordered to shoot to kill
