The Signs and Dreams II:

Aries: The Other City exists invisible, pressed over itself like reels of film. Touched once, felt a thousand times over.

Taurus: A place of dew and distant cloud-born light. Young blueprints trimmed and pruned like bonsai trees, sprouting steel and concrete and leaves of fragile glass.

Gemini: You sink your hands into dark soft earth and feel it hum. Palm-spade pulling song from soil, resonance rent from its seedbed.

Cancer: An old man in a garden asks strange questions, lecturing on the similarity between bone and keratin. A snake skin coils around his shoulders, whispering into his ear.

Leo: The spines of mountains and the vaults within. Ascending and descending into ancient cold and quiet. Fountains flow with something that is not water.

Virgo: A city of water and blown glass. A doctor in his many lenses stands bent over a body like shimmering oil. Veins of light and sense, excised and catalogued.

Libra: An empty train when none should be running, doors open in implacable silence. The morning mist fogs your glasses. Soon the sun will rise.

Scorpio: The woods between everything. The feeling of branches on skin, soft pine needles inscribing subtle things. You’ve been here before, but you’ve never stayed.

Ophiuchus: A locksmith makes locks that are not locks for doors that are not doors. Fingers dance over shapes of iron and silver. The air smells of death.

Sagittarius: Reels of tape, old radio messages. Stories of a woman astride a great stag, following convoys along the roads north of Dusheti.

Capricorn: A woman sits with you by the bank of a river dark and grey. You had a conversation with her that you cannot remember. You have a choice to make.

Aquarius: A forest at dusk. Buried in the soft ground are earthen vessels, larger and older than you could possibly understand. Aquifers flow over moss-eaten frescoes of woman bathing.

Pisces: A fine and beautiful place. A hall of bronze, polished to a mirror sheen. A shining throne lays empty. You see yourself reflected in every surface.

Gemini - The Madly Mixed Mind 

All of those thoughts and voices that circulate in her head, they belong to each of her personalities, and of those there are plenty. Gemini is often criticised for constant, bell like chatter, but there are many times you will see a silent Gemini, the voice may be still but the mind is a production of its own. You will see a silent Gemini distracted by her thoughts, her mind floating away into the clouds and her body still and vague. She is off with the fairies because her mind never gets to rest, so those fantastical fairies sprinkle her mind with child’s dust. What if she shuts her eyes and misses out? One less question answered, one more thought without a conclusion, and the chaos continues. There are slow thoughts and fast thoughts. Impulsive thoughts and rational thoughts. Immature thoughts and brilliant thoughts. It all occurs in the Gemini cacophony mind. It’s her thinking that does the dreaming, her logic that gets confused when faced with too many possibilities, her ability to remember fascinating facts but neglect to pay her phone bill. Gemini is consistently inconsistent, she learns with ease but forgets in a moment, she enthrals all with her cultivated knowledge and uses information as a source of energy. Bird is the word the saying goes, Gemini is an air sign, the little birdy who told me.
