1) start up: pleasant sounding but this doesn't introduce the album at all, it just sounds like shitty royalty-free music wtf, literally 3.5/10
2) future pop: guitar at beginning made me question whether i accidentally played taylor swift, vocals are cute, but when they say "future pop" I CRINGE TO DEATH, bridge is a bit annoying and the whole electro breakdown is quite generic western EDM, but that's what i like listening to so overall, 6/10
3) if you wanna: well we already know all about this... situation, i don't hate it but really don't love it, verses aren't too generic but chorus is veeery standard, also wtf why does this sound like a shitty transcode i was promised 320kbps, giving it 5/10
4) TOKYO GIRL: ok so they took TOKYO GIRL and slid the pitch down in the smallest increment possible, still a decent song and sounds more "perfume" to me than if you wanna, so 6/10
5) FUSION: i've always had a soft spot for this song, it's so incredibly "not perfume" but at the same time, it is such a "perfume" song. to me, the song is rather lackluster when it's not accompanied by the docomo video, but still an interesting new approach as opposed to... this entire album, giving it 7/10
6) tiny baby: i was really hyped for this song just from the name lmao, sounds VERY perfume in the best way, and i love the chorus breakdown, the lyrics are somewhat cringey ("teeny weeny" im dying) but super adorable and i appreciate the EDM take on a JPN-ish song, giving it 6.5/10
7) let me know: you can hate all you want but i love this song!! was it a great promotional single? i think so! i feel like this song shows more progression in perfume's sound as opposed to nakata desperately trying to pander to modern western music! choreo was lit as well and mv was actually somewhat interesting (cough tokyo girl im looking at you), giving it 7.5/10
8) chorairin: already interested from the instrumental at the beginning, and the verse FUCKIN SLAYS, something about this says "wednesday campanella" to me but i wanna shake my ass to this. breakdown is cute, we don't need random bass drops, but i can't help feeling like this song is a bit of a filler track, this would be 6.5/10
9) mugen mirai: JIKAN WO TOMETE *cranks up volume*, i thought the rest of the album would be like this to be honest, i really loved this song and the mv was decent, choreo was decent as well and overall an absolute unit, it gets 7/10
10) houseki no ame: so im kinda getting bored of talking bout singles we've already heard of, but this was such a BOP, when tokyo girl was, comparatively, a FLOP, choreo is cute and this entire song makes me smile, so glad it made it onto the album, it gets 7.5/10
11) tenku: holy FUCK im bopping in my seat right from the beginning, it's cute and im shakin my tiddies along to the chorus, kind of sounds like an anime theme song to be honest, so i'm not angry that it's basically at the end of the album, givin it 6.5/10
12) everyday: WHY WAS THIS THE LAST TRACK, EVERYDAY WAS ROBBED, this is such a fucking bop and i will never stop stanning this song, this song convinced me to purchase a panasonic washing machine (ok it didn't but i would buy one if i could), this was the CORRECT way to progress perfume's sound into modern EDM style tracks, the song D E V E L O P S, you get that slow verse that gets you engaged, that chord right at the breakdown shakes you and then, you know it's coming and you're clapping along and then they hit you with the "HOUR" (let's pretend it's AWA) and you head straight to church and praise nakata for this. i love the choreo, it perfectly complements the song, i honestly think this was the best song from the future pop era, giving it 8.5/10
this album was good, but not great. and yes, i preferred cosmic explorer, sorry about it. you guys might / will disagree with me, but i just like western EDM music and stuff and that’s what i generally listen to anyway, so i like the whole future pop genre (even if nakata failed to pull it off sometimes). would give the whole album a 7.5, and im concerned that the only song scoring above 8 for me was everyday, which wasn’t even an A-side... at least it got the mv and choreo ;)
