Hya!!First of - thanks so much!Secondly - I’m from the Fine Arts background too! We did have an “animation course” there, which was basically a shared course with New Media, but yeah, I did graduate with a BA in animation myself. BUUUUUT, as far as I know, there are dudes in the Gobelins International MA that actually didn’t have an official animation degree (graduated as painters/graphic artists I think??), but had a KILLER DEMO REEL. All self taught. If I remember correctly, you should have a BA or an equivalent of experience (usually 3 years, school and work experience counts) to apply. The most important thing in your entire application, however, is the level of your work. And at the end of the day, that’s what they most care about. It is a Masters programme, and applicants are expected to have a solid base in animation (2D and 3D) coming in. You needn’t to be an expert, but it won’t quite be a beginners course. Therefore I would really encourage you to do some animation exercises and try different fun things out, just so you start feeling a bit more comfortable with it :) Then you can really star building a nice, solid demo reel! Don’t be shy to put your best foot forward and show off those illustrations and other fine art work too, especially if it’s stronger than your animation. Diversity is exactly hat they are looking for! Just keep it relevantFor a more precise answer, I’d suggest you email a person listed as a contact on the website (they are super nice, don’t be shy!), and in the meanwhile work work WORK on your animation!!! :DGOOD LUCK!!!! ♥
