This morning I had a dream I stumbled across some right wing political commentary show, and there was a black conservative guy in the audience who was given an opportunity to stand up and speak. When he stood up, he began speaking about Poland. Now, let me preface this by saying I don’t really think of Poland politically which is what made this dream stand out. Anyways, the guy brings up how he thinks Poland has been doing such a great fucking job, and midway into his spiel he takes a homophobic swipe as Sean Hannity that draws some groans and murmuring, and some supportive claps as you might expect.
Imagine my surprise when I wake up and check tumblr today only to discover what Poland has been up to recently. I am stunned. I wasn’t even looking for it, and I hesitated at first when I saw Poland trending. Now I see why the black conservative in my dream was so thrilled about what Poland has been doing lately, because Poland is doing what American Conservatives have long been fighting to accomplish.
Now, I’m not really trying to interpret my dream here on Tumblr, but I have some idea of why it was shown to me as it was. This whole abortion ban and the events that have followed really is something that makes me realize that what took place in Poland can indeed happen here, and in time there's a very strong likelihood it might, which is why we all have to stand with women and fight the American Evangelical Dominionist Theocratic Agenda. FYI, I’m a Christian and I even don’t want to see them succeed in turning this country into the kind of place that European Colonialists fleed to this land to get away from.
