Sorry I’ve been taking a much needed break from writing for awhile and just shamelessly enjoying playing video games and reading. And giving the muse a rest. So... yeah. I’m alive, really.

“Be honest.”

Avatar

The Magus stared at his friend and lover, “Haven’t I been?” he rhetorically asked back before lowering his gaze and then looking away. “Of course I have, but you ask me anyway.” He sighed heavily and then picked at the sleeve of his robe, telltale signs of his nervousness. He wasn’t always one to be honest and forthcoming when it came to his own feelings.

“Kiya, I have never been wrong about how I feel about you,” Medivh finally spoke after what seemed like a long period of contemplative silence. A silence that filled the air between them and making the chill air of the winter feel even more bitter. He looked up after scuffing his foot against the powdery snow that blanketed the balcony of his apartment in Stormwind Keep. “You are beautiful and smart. You have a fascination for gadgets and machinery like I do, and although your glitter bombs annoy the hell out of me sometimes, I would never trade that part of you for something else.”

He held out a gloved hand to Kiya, inviting her to join him out on the balcony that overlooked the white, human city made even more white by the first snow of the season. “You are witty and your puns are just as bad as mine. You don’t try to get me angry or change who I am or whats in me. You have more patience than King Llane does, and believe me when I say that, it makes you look like a saint. Llane can tell you enough stories about me where I’ve tried his patience to the brink and back.”

Medivh smiled gently. It was genuine and held a breath of fondness for her. “I did not leave your sister because I desire you physically. If it was sex I wanted, I would keep Nix or find a whore. I left her because you have shown me a different kind of love that your sister cannot express. A love that I didn’t know I wanted or needed until I met you. I don’t know if its because of your time with… with your late husband or if its because its a natural part of you.”

He looked out over the city, readying himself for the moment that might destroy everything with them. He would understand if Kiya chose to leave and go into hiding. He couldn’t blame her. He had been stupid and foolish for answering Phoenix’s bait. “I might have also told your sister about us.”

He quickly looks back at the dragonness, “I didn’t mean to! It just came out. She got me angry and… I blurted it out without thinking.”

Avatar

"Shhhh..." she shushed him gently as she placed a tender kiss upon his lips. "It was going to happen. To be honest I thought I was the one who was going to say something first. It was a act of the gods to keep the bond that twin dragons have silent. I've never held anything from her, I am pretty sure I can't lie to people I care about."

Kiya took a deep breath, savoring the crisp and cold wintry air. "I'm not upset, I mean she was going to find out sooner rather than later. And Med? I am not going anywhere. I'm here to stay."

The dragoness never felt so sure about something in her life and she held Medivh close, feeling his strength and knowing that no matter what, she wasn't going to live in fear. "If she can't accept the fact you moved on and found someone else, its on her. Dragons do divorce, it is rare but it does happen."

"Well, it is half Tirion's doing and well, the rest me. I lived alone before and he brought me out of my shell. You did too. Hell Med, when I met you, you were the only mortal so like me that I was surprised when you told me how you really felt. I always thought of myself as a boring little lump of snow, when compared to my twin..."

"But, since I am rambling, the important thing is Medivh, I love you and I am not going anywhere and that will never change." She hoped her words would convey what she meant. “You helped me to live again, to want to live again when my whole world was destroyed.”

Thought for the day: Introducing Khadgar, and/or Medivh to Coke. Or my personal choice, Dr. Pepper.

That’d be pretty interesting, actually. I could anticipate some sugar-highs, but it would be tolerable.

Introducing them to Red Bull, or, even worse, Irn-bru? Quite possibly the worse idea ever conceived by humankind. Especially me.

I wish, dearly, that EU and US could play together. You need - NEED - to experience @medivhthecorrupted running off while @selarcis and I run after him - regardless of whether it’s on Horde or Alliance. In-game Medivh is. A. Menace.

Briyanna thinks he’s insane. Lissandre thinks he needs to be tied down and sat on. Selarcis has just given up. Thayadon is clueless. Khadgar just chases after him and prays it doesn’t get them both killed. Moroes…. @moroes encourages him or lectures him on how not to die while managing to give his babysitters the slip.

Meanwhile, Med just nyooms off and pulls half the zone/dungeon/whatever. And then is like “I’m dying!” Like…

And we USUALLY manage to get to him before he dies.

We blame sugar. But I swear… Med acts like he’s hopped up on all the fizzy things and a side of chocolate.

I’ll take Bullshit for 500 Alex... Oh yes you are...

“Parental Judgement”

Send “Parental Judgement” to learn if my muses parents would approve of our muses relationship

Thane’s parents would have juxtaposed opinions of Kiya, his mother would probably tolerate her whereas his father would loathe her due to her personality and way she acts. She’s too confident and free spirited for him. He is not a nice person.

Alexstrasza would love him where her sire...would probably try and eat him. He is Deathwing after all.

"Oooh Kiiiyaaaa!"

It was quiet in the smallish cabin that was built into the side of the ice wall of the cave. Normally the only noises that could be heard were the various beeps and boops of the lab and the puttering around of Jeeves as he prepared her coffee and tidied up the place while his draconic mistress slept after working all night and faceplanting onto the couch in her bedroom, not even making it to the bed.

But the sound of her twin’s voice broke the quiet and startled Kiya that she literally rolled off the couch and onto the makeshift table next to it, breaking it and sending up a line of profanity that could have funded another entire Argent settlement and the anxiety at her core, the mental link betrayed nothing to her twin found Kiyastrasza, wide as fuck awake and staring in mute horror at her sibling, something that could be explained as being woken up out of a sound sleep.

“Hi…….” was all she managed to stammer.

“Oh most certainly he will be excited to know Aunt Kiya will be bringing him more minerals. I foresee that boy living in a geode by the time hes done collecting. It will be great. If the mortals get curious, just tell them you’re an entrepreneur. You enjoy dipping your fingers in all corners of the market and it keeps you rich.”

“It could have been a spell or it could be that you integrated with the blues after being there for so long. Dragon see, dragon do? Not to mention Malygos…his laugh and behavior is infectious. The times I visited him, I recall feeling at home among the snow but the moment I left I realized I was freezing!”

Phoenix smiled at her sister, not that she could see behind the scarf, and leaned in for a long hug. “I’ve missed you too. I know the feeling…I really do. And I’m so happy to have you at my side again. And you’re right. Destiny did seem prepared for us to be broodmothers. Dad would have been so proud.”

“That is from his grandfather’s side. Mine loves gems of all kinds in fact, some of them enchant stones. Tiye used to do that, I think Sidra still does. And what kind of Aunt would I be if I didn’t spoil them? A piss poor one…”

“And well, its also just us, you are the warmth of summer, I am the cold winters night. I just feel more at home among the snowdrifts. I get my best work done here…”

Also the fact that nobody in their right mind unless they came to look for her would come all the way up to Northrend. Kiya relaxed in her sister’s embrace, feeling like two halves long separated that had finally come back together. “I wish we had gotten to be broodmothers and actually founded a Flight. That would have been like the highest honor…”

“A very terrible Aunt indeed if you did not spoil my children! And do not worry, I will continue to spoil yours as well!” Nix giggled and then lead Kiya. She went slow so as to keep her sister from stumbling and, with the blindfold off, she would be unable to see the portal but feel the magical glow as they passed through it and entered a much warmer setting.

“And I feel more at home among fire. Perhaps mom knew the winters of Coldaara would be best for you.” She undid the blindfold so Kiya could see the rock formations around them. They appeared to be underground where the only source of light coming from pools of lava and small fires burning in the cavern.

“You still could. There’s not a lot of dragons in this world but if you find yourself a strong enough male…well, you could become a broodmother. Imagine all of the children you could have. Clutches of ten, fifteen whelps! Malygos was always happiest when surrounded by the young of his flight, and you would be too.”

"Wow... this kinda looks like Kyra's lair back home...before she went batty and really redid it. I told her to leave it as is..."

Kiya let her eyes adjust to the light but the one thing dragons had over humans is that their eyes could adjust faster to changes in light. It made living in caves so much easier. "You know being down here makes me a feel a little closer to our father. I still wish I had gotten to know him you know, before he went batcrap crazy..."

"And I want to! I loved having babies, I never thought I would so that’s part of the reason, along with my horribly low opinion of myself that I stayed alone for so many years. But once my first two were born I knew I wanted more. And once I learned of what I really am and met our mother, that part just made so much sense..."

Finding the cabin had been trickier than knowing where to look. Like a cat, once a dragon became comfortable in a space it because their space. So naturally her sister would find her way back to this abode. Distance and depression had lessened their link, quieting it and making her pursuit a purely visual one.

Nix giggled and…she almost sounded happy. It was nice to be near her sister again, even if she had unintentionally scared the other dragon.

“Oh, I’m so sorry Kiya! I didn’t mean to scare you. I suppose I should have sent a letter ahead of me. How have…how have you been? I’m sorry for being gone so long but I had to get the kids settled somewhere safe.”

“Oh don’t worry about it, you should have seen the damage I did to the bathroom the first time Jeeves opened the curtain and touched my back. I put a hole in the ceiling… if you look closely in my old shower it’s still there…”

Kiya managed to get up and brush herself off. “And as usual I worked all damn night trying to fix something that got broke in the move. I think about 6 AM I just threw it into the junk pile and made a new one…”

After hugging her sister Kiya turned to pick her blankets off the floor and straighten the couch to give Nix somewhere to sit. “And how are they? The little one hatch yet?”

“I know of some tea that might help you to relax some. Less holes and such.” Nix offered, sounding cheerful. Though a somberness grew when she remembered the move. How she had lied to get her sister and their families to safety and for what? She sighed and brushed off the unpleasant thought. No she had good news.

“Thats why I’m here!” She cheered after the hug. “The children are fine and egg has hatched and I wanted you to meet the whelp!”

“Oh that’s wonderful! I swear I miss the hatching… Tirion always wondered why I would go a little batty with the nesting and making my bed out there…” Her voice trailed off, as a cold stab to her soul reminded her that he was gone.

“But! Enough of my prattling! Let’s see the wee baby! I am sure I can fix up some of my kids old baby toys… or hell. I can make new ones!”

No matter how depressed she felt Kiya loved spoiling her nieces and nephews. “And I have yet to have a shortage of knitted things. I probably have more than a few baby sized blankets I never got around to using with mine.”

Knitting, her stress reliever and something that kept her hands busy while she was anxious or upset. She’s been known to carry on an entire conversation while knitting and not skip a single bit.

Phoenix was familiar with the pain her sister was experiencing, so she moved in for a long hug.

“The hatching is the best because it’s like…knowing that the most beautiful of treasures is about to appear.” The hug ended and Nix pulled out a thick scarf and offered it to Kiya. “Though I’m going to need you to put this on. The children and I are still in hiding for the time being. As for gifts for your newest nephew, I’m sure he would love some. Never too early to start a hoard even if it’s just soft things to cuddle in. Light, I love that stage.”

As she put the scarf on Kiya went to ask Jeeves to prepare a package of baby things for the new little one only to find out that he was as usual ahead of her.

“And if he’s anything like us, he’ll have a huge nest of the finest and softest pillows and blankets. I really don’t know where mortals get that we sleep ON treasure. Some of that stuff is rather pokey and uncomfortable. Now under the comfy stuff? Sure. I keep some of my most valuable treasure under the nest.”

“Me too, and it seems like when you turn around they grow overnight. Then again, that’s my experience with my brood. Must be the human side of the parentage. Although one of these days I should hook up with one of our kind to see…how full blooded dragon babies grow…”

Nix watched Jeeves get to work before helping Kiya with the scarf. She had missed this…being around her sister. A part of her that hurt mended some as she commenced in a conversation as if they had only been apart a day.

“Oh most likely. Though Arik does seem to have taken a shine to crystals and minerals over silks. He still borrows my pillows when he wishes to sleep, which I can’t blame him for. And I might have accidentally started that rumor. But you see the gold is fine as long as its in coins because it moves around and eventually gets squished into a softer surface. I prefer to keep it on the earth and under ground because it keeps it warm. You end up with a self heating gold bed.”

Jeeves finished and the knot on the scarf was tied. Nix took her sisters hand and lead her outside. “I hate to tell you but that’s the dragon part. You get about two years before they’re too smart and too adventurous for their own good. Halflings you get about five though. I think the human part holds them back. I guess what I’m saying is…I can help you on the knowledge base if you need.”

"Then he will be very happy to learn I've bought the rights to two new gem mines here. Mortals always wonder why I have so many businesses among humans and other mortals. Money has to come from somewhere and well, I am giving them jobs and providing for my family and they tend to come after you if you just take what you want."

"Well, I think we sleep better on coins, and how funny I do that too due to our black dragon heritage. Hell when I thought I was a blue I was most comfortable sleeping on ice. I still want to know what spell was used to do that to me, it was so... all encompassing. I blame Malygos, even though I wasn't born a Blue I still think like one.."

Kiya never dressed well for the weather, it must have been a leftover from her time as a Blue dragon. She was more comfortable in the cold. "To be honest I just missed you, it's like having a part of me missing and anyone who isn't a dragon twin just won't get that. Hell the three sets of twins I hatched, the last two were egg-in-egg like we were." Kiya let out a brief laugh. “I blame our red dragon heritage, I think we were both born to be broodmothers.”
