Dean slammed his laptop closed, annoyed at all the popup ads he was suddenly getting. “What the fuck with these,” he mumbled, catching Sam’s attention. 

Hazel eyes lifted from the book in his hands and a smirk played upon his lips. “You know you can ad-block, right?” 

“Oh yeah, Zuckerberg? I tried that. They just keep emailing me and popping up on my screen.” Dean pushed the computer away and slumped in his chair. “It’s freakin’ annoying!”

Sam carefully turned the page and laughed silently, amused at Dean’s ire. “Maybe if you stayed off the porn sites you wouldn’t pick up so many viruses…”

Dean snapped, leaning forward. “Pornhub is a legitimate website and I have not once gotten a virus off of them, thank you very much.” 

“What about ‘bigchiefs-bear-dungeon.com’?” 

Green eyes widened and plump lips dropped. Dean gasped in shock and defense. “I do not-”

Sam’s lifted brow cut him off. 

“Shut up. It was one time!”

I love that they give Elliot these little bits of expertise. I actually really love when he attributes it to women he dates, too (like in the first season when he corrected everyone on stewardesses vs. flight attendants), because it adds another little bit of characterization–this is a guy who listens to the women he dates, instead of just nodding and smiling and ignoring stuff that other men might dismiss as ‘girl stuff.’

This is also common practice in Sweden. Dairy cows are kept indoors during the winter, then released into their pasture in spring. The kosläpp (release of the cows) is an annual event usually open to visitors. There’s even an expression derived from it.

it’s so marvelous to me that humans make an annual event of gathering around specifically to watch cows experience joy. the humans are excited that the cows are excited, to the point they make sure the human kids get front row seats, cause they know the kids will be extra excited. there is so much vicarious joy here. how remarkable a world, where we do things specifically for the pleasure of seeing other people and creatures happy.

Need reading materials!

Hey guys! I know it’s been a while, but I’m still around and missing everyone! I’m going in for surgery today on my dominant arm, and I’ll be in a cast for 2-3 weeks following. Since I’ll be off work for 2-3 weeks but won’t be able to do much one handed, I was planning to read and watch movies/tv. However, my oldest daughter (8) has been moved for virtual learning for the week (of course), so I can’t exactly binge SPN or the Tolkien movies like I’d planned. I’d love to know your favorite fanfics, so I might be able to binge read instead! SPN, Hobbit, or Avengers would be awesome and amazing, RPF for those is good too!

  • He’s never usually minded, he’s taller, anyway, so he just thought that was how his proportions were and that was it.

Author’s Note: This is my first X Files fic and my first ship fic that I’ve posted on this blog.  I’ve never watched the X Files before so it’s been all new to me and I’m absolutely loving it.  The chemistries between Mulder and Scully and Scully and Skinner are both really well played and I think if they’d continued with Mulder and Scully beign platonic, the obvious thing would have been for Skinner and Scully to have the tension. Mitch Pileggi has even said in an interview that he saw Skinner as being in love with Scully, just very aware nothing could ever come of it.  I think that’s just thinking too small, but so far, no one has responded to my tweets on the matter.  So this was born out of frustration and the fever of finding a new OTP.  I hope you enjoy and if any of my readers is a diehard Mulder x Scully, please forgive me.
