Man that sucks. I hope a computer workshop can recover some of your files. You are not alone in this. I know many people who had to start over after a stolen laptop or a burned-down atelier. Just remember that your best work always lies in the future. Good luck!
ah, i hope so too, i have been looking for my options and ah well- i guess i can’t do much at this very moment haha, i have to wait until tomorrow to see if things can be fixed. my first response to it was definitely driven too much by my utter panic. thanks a lot for the encouragement and this kind message :)

my computer is dead. and im. at the verge of tears.
lost all my university work and it sucks especially now that i have so many deadlines coming up. the mere thought of starting things over is simply exhausting. and not knowing when will i even start over and knowing that i have to tell this to my professors is even more nerve racking.
that being said, well, i wont be posting requests for a while- lost all the WIPs and,,, yeah.
