one of my best friends is a bisexual woman who used to identify as a lesbian, and when she realized that she’s actually bisexual she was really scared about telling people because she feared backlash and rejection. but for her, the bisexual label is really important and she took the most amount of comfort in it. she initially identified as a lesbian because she couldn’t conceive of being attracted to men and women simultaneously, and she needed a way to articulate that she likes women. similarly, lesbians who have once identified as bisexual probably needed a way to state that they like women but didn’t know that it was possible for them to like women and /only/ women. we have to ensure that questioning wlw who are moving between labels and figuring out who they actually are for the first time feel safe and comfortable in doing so.

THIS IS IMPORTANT ‼️‼️‼️

USE FILTERED WATER IF YOU CAN, TAP WATER CAN KILL SOME ANIMALS, IF ITS ALL YOU HAVE THATS FINE, BUT IF YOU HAVE AN OPTION USE FILTERED!!!

Also! Don’t shoot them! I come from a rural area where wild animals are a threat to livestock and crops and the usual habit is to shoot them with BB guns. DO NOT DO THAT. Scared animals will keep running and move on. If something hangs around and starts pestering your pets or livestock (usually a raccoon) you can try trapping it and moving it 5 or 10 miles up the road. DO NOT PUT FOOD OUT. Only water! Any food you might put out is more likely than not to be bad for the animals. They can find food just find, but things are a little dry so they need the water.

What if Tracer like, chilled the fuck out for a second and just shot Doomfist in the head instead of zipping around like a maniac missing literally every shot

hey yeah idk if i have any straight followers but. you cannot fucking say “gays”. i say it because i am gay. i’m directly oppressed by homophobia. you are NOT. this STILL applies if you’re asexual i’m dead fucking serious. calling people gays is and always will be homophobic. i’m sick of entitled fucking non gays thinking they’re allowed to use homophobic slurs.

this is ok to reblog. especially if you’re not gay, i want you to reblog this and engrave it into your fucking head forever.

zenyatta is so cute i dont understand how some ppl dont feel anything but unabashed love for him?? his peace sign victory pose?? his tickled and taunt emotes??? he fist bumps one of his iris arm things and says stuff like “i win this round genji” with an implicit “>:3c” and says the zen-equivalent of “FIGHT ME” when another zen gives him a discord orb… hes perpetually floating jst bc and wears lil omnic sandals and asks bastion to “tell me your thoughts, my friend” and calls orisa “sister” and his on fire voice line is “i am on fire…but an extinguisher is not required” and responds to zaryas “ive got my eye on u, omnic” with “and i will watch ur back in return :^)”

i dont know where this post was going i just love zenyatta he is so goddamn cute

if youre a writer and you want to know what multilingual ppl are really like, today I was giving directions to a Chinese couple but they were having trouble understanding me, so I turned to my gf for help and she explained it very slowly to them in English and sent them on their way. when they were gone I said “babe… you’re Chinese. Why did you give them the directions in English?” and she looked at me with utter horror, and that’s the story of how my gf forgot she spoke her own native language

Ok but I need to scream about this some more.

After Stan has his memory wiped he is so calm and sweet and innocent. He’s like a big kid who’s just happy to tag along with these kind strangers who say they know him and want to help him remember who he is. At first I thought this was way out of character for the abrasive, loud and rude Grunkle Stan we know and love but then rewatching it I realize it’s the opposite.

What we saw in these moments is Stan’s core. He has no facade, no need to be defensive or put up a front because he doesn’t remember all those things that made him want to put on a face in the first place. All that’s left is the core of who he is: which is a big old softie who is sweet and kind and eager to be loved. We can see this by how he treats Mabel, who in that moment is a stranger but he’s just happy to see such a happy face and immediately asks for her name and takes her hands into his because he doesn’t know who she is but he wants to know because he’s so open and kind.

It’s such a heartbreaking scene because he doesn’t remember his family but at the same time it gives us interesting insight to Stan’s true character and personality.

it’s no secret how much i despise this site’s brand of identity politics, and while i always focus on the lgbt related variety, the mental illness side in all its self-indulgent, inherently detrimental glory takes the cake-

we got 13-17 yr olds diagnosing themselves with personality disorders like NPD (relax i am very pro-self diagnosis when done right) due to literal Symptoms Of Being A High Schooler like…..there IS a reason minors can’t technically recieve certain diagnoses, and that reason isn’t ableism- they pass in adulthood. yall have literal kids saying that their desire for attention and dislike of/percieved inferiority of their young peers are cut and dry personality disorder symptoms (hey, i did the same thing at 16-17).

what’s normal and ok is these teenage beliefs/mindsets being phases, what’s completely fucking abnormal and unhealthy is folks rallying around them and encouraging they adopt, and in turn water down, these very heavy labels. what’s abmormal is fostering the belief that these negative aspects of teens’ inherently-volatile and unstable personalities, and dip in empathy, assuring them they’ll be like that forever so no one is allowed to criticize them or offer the wisdom that it’ll VERY LIKELY all pass as their brain development reaches its next stage. as someone who’s fought (since elementary school) for, and retained the debilitating diagnoses ive recieved, but CHOOSES to fight them and better myself even now, into adulthood, it’s very difficult to swallow, and frankly i won’t try.

if you were to give every high schooler a test for all the PDs i assure you a majority of them would “meet” a whole lotta their criteria. test them 10 years down the line you’ll probably see a drastic decrease.

it’s fine for kids to figure themselves out, to be at war with their brains, and cope in the ways they need for the time being. if they find comfort in relating to certain illnesses, so be it. as i said, i went thru that myself. what helps literally no one is a vast community of people, mostly 18+ folks, coddling them while also bein like Don’t Forget You’re Here Forever.

okay. the devastation of climate change is irreversible, restoration/relief/response systems are basically obsolete as geopolitical circumstances deteriorate, and we’re about to experience serious mass migrations due to environmental disaster. what do we need to do now for those most vulnerable to global warming?

internationalist mobilization cannot be understood as anything but an urgent and immediate priority rn – the poor of the third world are being brutalized by climate change, and we need to imagine and construct systems of mutual aid across borders as alternatives to philanthropic, colonialist, and imperialist forms of aid that reiterate violence and are ineffective now in dealing with this catastrophic amount of environmental disaster anyway.
