I write this song while listening to The Melting Of The Sun by St. Vincent. I absolutely love the vibe of this song as well as its meaning but I thought that it would suit the atmosphere I would like this oneshot to have. Enjoy 😁

You didn't know if you were lonely or just bored, but your butt started to get numb from sitting on the couch. It was always like this, bleak house, plain colours, like from a 1953 black and white show.
Everything drowned out like static, you missed him, all of him. Him? Well he's gone, not like dead gone but that's what it always felt like when he left. Heck even nina, your cat, agreed, she missed him too.
You got up, you had to, any longer you'll have one less butt cheek, hatter wouldn't like that he'll have one less butt cheek to grab. You weren't mad but you weren't happy that he was away from you for so long.
Some call people like you dramatic, but it was more like affectionate to you. You got started on dinner, lasagna, his second favourite. Hatter's picky with his likes, but of course his favourite is you.
"Ding" the door bell rang. Like a cat, your eyes darted towards the doors. Peering through the peep hole, your eyes widened. Swinging the door open you jumped into your lover's arms as if he just came back from war.
Your hatter was home. " Do you know how long you've kept me waiting? Day after day for the whole week, you leave in the morning and come home past midnight." You whispered in hatters ear as he lifted you up, holding you.
He carried you inside the apartment, tossing his fedora on the couch. Making your way into the bedroom, you held him close, savouring his faded cologne. Throwing you onto the bed, you giggled.
Climbing in next to you, he wrapped his arms around you, pulling you in close to kiss you.
High of hatter's kisses, your heart raced and head spun like cannabis in the air. It was passionate, it was needy, it was everything in one. " I missed too" he whispered as you pulled away.
" Oh, I left the lasagna on the counter, it's going to get cold!" You exclaimed as hatter looked down at you with a soft smile, his hair falling perfectly around him. " it's fine, you and me cuddling is more important right now." He said in-between kisses.
A/n: mind how the paragraphs are, I planned the climax of the story to hit at the same time as the climax of the song so it looks kinda wonky.
