“but AI art lets me create my OCs!” YOU WILL USE PICREW AS GOD INTENDED

i actually have a list of POC friendly picrews saved so by extension of the focus on inclusivity there’s probably more body type / facial options in these! the ones i’ve personally used from this list have had them. i hope this helps!!!

Also! Hero Forge. It's a website mostly for making your DnD characters as minis, but it's an absolutely Great resource for anyone looking to make their oc. It has great options for posing, customization, and just about anything.

Don’t use the evil computer program to make art it’s putting artists out of work, instead use this kind noble computer program that makes art. So we hate ai just because it’s trendy to hate ai? Is that what we’re doing?

AI uses learning based on many scraped/stolen artworks. Picrew and Heroforge are essentially fancy paper dolls. Every aspect of them was done by an artist, who has provided them for our use, we're just mix and matching. These things are not remotely the same, friend.

Developer's notes:

  • Using a timeloop to kill cops or people who've wronged you with impunity when you know it isn't going to stick and you just want the satisfaction feels like an obvious example of number 3 to me
  • Using a timeloop to spend all the time you want mastering skills is either not an actual coping mechanism (more akin to a new years resolution that you give up on after some number of loops). If it is done as a coping mechanism, it's likely number 6.

Hm. Your interpretation of this character displeases me. Guards! Take them away! Make them read the source material once more, and if that fails, the stocks.

anyway, let's talk about how Alton More, out of all of easy, is actually the first one to see through the façade of violence and ruthlessness Ronald Speirs puts up around himself because something about this scene--

-- is a direct pipeline to the Carver scene, when Ron pistol whips then trains the gun on Carver's face, and the others flinch away or closes/averts their eyes altogether--

--Alton More is one of the few who keeps his eyes right on Ronald Speirs with that fucking look on his face.

what the fuck does that mean, Alton!? is it morbid anticipation? are you waiting for the final blow, the execution that'll finally satisfy you? are you waiting for him to finally snap and betray his own morals just for your petty revenge? or are you afraid? are you afraid that he's not who you thought he was and he'll actually do it? prove you wrong and everybody right, after months fighting beside him and following his orders? are you finally considering that perhaps the violence and ruthlessness are part of him after all? are you afraid that maybe it's part of you, too?

well, you'll be glad to find out it isn't. part of him, that is. and maybe it isn't part of you, either. not that you care, Alton. brushing up against that existential question is more than you can bear at the moment because the next time you see each other, it's back to business--

--and all is well.

tl;dr Alton More can play Ronald Speirs like a fiddle because he's got him read and sorted. and the funniest thing, is that Ron doesn't realize it.

or maybe he does.

but whether or not he likes it is a different story.

this is really just me and my weird tastes talking but I'm really upset, actually, that Masters of the Air did not give the actual planes the same importance that mecha media gives the giant mech suits?

because, essentially, these giant, experimental death traps ARE mechsuits already!! "but sam they don't look like giant robots" that is BESIDES the point and you know it!!!!! you just have to reframe it that way!!!!! the fact that when a plane goes down and in that pivotal moment between life&death you cannot separate pilot from machine from the outside???? that already illustrates how inseparable machine and pilot are!!!!!! how humanity and technology go together and become Other in both good and bad ways???? how the machine is an extension of a pilot so much that it feels weird when they're not in the machine, that they CRAVE the machine, even when it would spell their ultimate doom???? the fact that this is new experimental technology and warfare and is being tested on living people with dire consequences????? pls these themes are already extant in mechasuit media!!!!!!! grrrrrrggggrrrrrrrbarkbarkgrrrrrrr mota should've been a mecha-adjacent narrative ggggrrrrBARKBARKBARK

Okay it doesn't mean much other than it's just damned funny, but when Webster's book was first published Winters had no idea who the hell he was. Can you imagine going into the bookstore and picking up a book on Parachute Infantry and realizing the guy who wrote it is writing about your company and was one of your guys?

So he calls Lipton and asks if he knows him and Lip doesn't know either and has to call around to find out?

And Winters asked Speirs later on too. Webster writes about all these interactions with Speirs and HE doesn't remember him either. (Which is taken with a grain of salt because Speirs just doesn't have time to bother with details like that.) "Webster rings a bell, but not very loudly. Where did I know him?"

But Clancy Lyall remembers him. Remembers his diary. "We'd tell him lies like hell, and he'd be writing it down."

All boils down to this one question:

The Ghost Cart. Does it appear in anyone else's memoirs other than Websters? Fierce Valor references it from Web's book because it has to draw so heavily on everyone elses' accounts because Sparky was Sparky.

Was this a like of BS they fed Webster or does someone else talk about a haunted horse cart following the company across Europe?

What if Webster only wrote Ghost Cart down because it was a prank played on him by the rest of the guys??

I can't even ahaahahaha

Admittedly the heterochromia makes me sound like somebody's first OC so I can't blame them. I also have season-specific hair colour like some kind of arctic fox, I am not doing myself any favours in terms of sounding real. - Nathan

in fairness I think I shot myself in the foot mentioning the heterchromia that one time HAHAHAHAHA it also does not help that you are from the UK and my sibling is determined to keep up the "British and Australian people are not real" bit they have going on
