THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER (Netflix, 2023)
I respect Mike flanagan for casting his own wife as the hottest baddest sexiest bitch in every single TV show he makes
how to recognise a mike flanagan show:
1. people saying 4 pages of dialogue to another person who will stare back at them, looking devastated
2. mike flanagan's wife looking unbelievably hot
3. gay activity
4. carla gugino scaring the shit out of someone
5. just the worst gore you have ever seen. only for a few seconds. but christ it will stay with you
the urge to simultaneously dress like thirty different fictional characters all with wildly different styles and aesthetics
National Treasure (2004) + letterboxd reviews
Therapy is expensive, daydreaming about fictional characters is not.
"my comfort character" being regulus fucking black is a special kind of mental illness
I must not cringe. Cringe is the mind-killer. Cringe is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my cringe. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. When the cringe has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
Pedro's smile can light up a mile.

honestly i’m so disappointed in amazon prime even more than before because not only they cancelled some of their sapphic shows, now they’re seemingly purposely not giving promo to a show that’s led by diverse female characters and completely centered around women i mean THE POWER has been releasing eps now for like 2 weeks yet the promo has been DUST. even before its air, literally there were almost zero ads for it. it’s like amazon wants it to fail when the premise, the characters and the ACTING are all no shorter than phenomenal. i mean you got toni mfcking colette in this and multiple women of color as well as queer in LEAD and supporting roles yet no one is talking about it? the show makes a good commentary on female oppression and deals with the politics pretty well like if i had to closely describe the vibes i’d compare it to The Boys except it has potential to be better because it’s so women centered. i feel like it’s still early for a strong fandom but where are the book fans considering it did so well like why the hell is no one talking ab this😭 anyway please watch THE POWER on amazon prime starring Toni Colette, Halle Bush, Auli’i Cravalho, John Leguizamo, Toheeb Jimoh and many other talented people. the premise is basically teenage girls suddenly developing a power of electricity and it is only for women so the show deals with how this affects modern society
