okay!!!!! painted the model magic!!!!!!!
so that was an experience. all the acrylics in my house are ancient so I thought that was what was giving me a hard time but then I remembered the crucial step I had forgotten from my Troll Horn Model Magic Days. I forgot to go over the clay with a sealer when it was dry. that was why the paint was going on streaky. but it worked out like that on the apples bc that's kind of how apples are!!!! I tried to get some different shades on the baskets but. eh. also the handles became a casualty of the painting, they were really loose so I took them off.
I didn't pull out a great selection of paint so I didn't have a lot of mixing options and wasn't sure how to approach the bread, bc none of the browns I had worked. then my mom said 'hey for shits and giggles what about using crayons?' and I said 'I mean I guess I could try?' and that actually worked REALLY WELL?????? not at all what I expected or how I thought they'd look but I really really like them!!!!!!!!!!!! 🥖🥖 so then I used the crayons for the peanut butter and honey jars, and used some paint for the peanut and the writing on the honey jar, and I love them!!!!!! so so so much!!!!!!!!!! and there's also a crystal ball for THE MELODIOUS ONE 🔮🔮 I tried to color some of the books but I didn't like them very much so I'll work on them.
