ok first of all ,, why do you all insist on saying pansexuality isn't biphobic / offensive while talking over a lot of bisexual people ?? secondly ,, yes sexuality definitions are not set in stone ,, which is why if you don't want to use the bisexual label when ur attracted to multiple genders maybe u should assess why that's the case because internalised biphobia is a thing ! thirdly ,, it's not just about your feelings. it's about the implications for the wider lgbt+ community. pansexuality enforces the stereotype that bi people are only attracted to binary-gendered ppl, which is absolutely false ! and maybe that's not their intentions, but it's not about intentions it's about the actual effects that it has. sexuality labels aren't about finding the perfect word to describe you, they're about finding a place in a community of people who have experienced similar discrimination, and irrespective of what label you use, people attracted to multiple genders/irrespective of genders face judgement/discrimination for our romantic preferences. having lots of little labels breaks the community up into different communities when in reality 'bisexual' fits each and every one because it's not a strict definition, it's not about dictating ur experience of sexuality, it's about finding a community & solidarity & fighting against discrimination.
