Material for an original piece of writing 00X “Memories of Summer ~OH! Who’s that in the SUMMER!?”
Summary: Wanting to fulfil his desire for recognition from others, Reigen is struck by an idea - he takes the crew of Spirits & Such to a popular bathing spot, ‘Amagasaki Beach’. They set up shop, and in addition to the standard menu offerings at beaches (like melon and strawberry-flavoured shaved ice), they sell Salty Lemon-flavoured shaved ice filled with both vitamins and salt content, and offer cold therapy, ie. allowing individuals to dive from the midsummer beach into accumulated man-made snow reaching temperatures of -10C. Their special ‘test of courage’ menu that’s only accessible at night becomes unexpectedly popular, and as a result S&S receives both an increase in jobs and social media popularity. Reigen starts to be satisfied financially and spiritually.
During a work break, the S&S team head off into the ocean. Reigen experiences something strange while he’s leisurely snorkelling - he is chased by someone wearing shining goggles from the bottom of the sea. In haste, he returns to the shore, and finds that for some reason or another large amounts of seaweed are twined around his legs. Reigen recalls the story that a client who had previously been at this beach told him - that they found the shell of a shellfish in their swim trunks that they hadn’t put there themselves, that boats appear to have been dragged down into the pitch-black darkness, that night after night there’s a glowing eyeball that loiters around within the sea, and so on. Within the local area there’s a rumour that since long ago, two monsters, one of which is a shell-diver with a female form, have been living in the depths. How can they find out the truth!?
