Yondu probably wears so many layers to 1) insulate humidity & heat because he’s centaurian and Centauri-IV was a very jungle like planet and 2) to keep his back safe from any possible injuries, because even the slightest of cuts near his spine can cause a massive flair up of nerve and muscle pains due to his crest being ripped out.

I love the fact that yondu has FUNCTIONAL muscle rather than crude skinny boi comics muscle. Like most Marvel comic guys have APPEARANCE muscle, but Yondu has muscle that allows you to lift up a fucking tree trunk with your bare hands. He has lumberjack and Polynesian muscle- and I think that muscle type needs more representation.
