— [6:07 pm] “so do you get it?” your tutor, younghoon asks. you had to snap out of the trance you were in, enamored by the way he explained covalent bonds so smoothly and effortlessly. while chemistry wasn’t your strong suit academically, you definitely felt some with younghoon (cheesy, I know). not only was he your tutor, but he was also a friend of a friend whom you’ve been secretly harboring a crush on for a while now. when said friend, jacob, told you that a super smart guy named kim younghoon was looking for students to tutor for some extra cash, you automatically jumped at the opportunity. you were barely passing chem anyways, y/n double win.

“ugh,” you grumble. “no I don’t. can you explain it for me one more time please?”

“tsk tsk, y/n” younghoon says with a smile on his face. “if you paid as much attention to the lesson as you did to me then you’d be passing with flying colors by now.”

pink dusted your cheeks as you were caught red handed. “you’re full of it!” you squeak. “that face is anything but a distraction (lie), my small brain is just not getting it (another lie).” younghoon was a great tutor. getting lessons from him was way more helpful than learning straight from your professor. your grade improved drastically since you started sessions with him, but you kept it a secret for obvious reasons. if there was no need for chem tutoring, then there was no seeing younghoon every week.

“I’m just messing with you,” he laughs, hand comfortingly patting your shoulder. “and your brain isn’t small, you’re really smart! have some faith in yourself.” he continues to explain the concept again, patience in his voice and you almost felt bad for making him repeat himself because this lesson was easy compared to the others. “I’ll tell you what y/n, you’re obviously not paying attention so if you can give me the covalent bond lewis structure for ammonia and carbon monoxide then we can go get ice cream on me.”

a date, but not date with younghoon? sign you tf up. quickly, you grab a piece of paper and scribble down the answers. sliding the paper over to younghoon, you slam your pencil down. “done, now let’s go.”

younghoon looks at your answer sheet, shaking his head in disbelief. “I can’t believe you,” he says, amusement in his tone. “you really were fooling me this whole time just so you can still see me! jacob was so right.”

“shhh,” you hush him, packing up your things. “don’t ruin this for me, now let’s go!”

shaking his head and laughing, younghoon follows behind you. “well y/n, you won’t have to spend any more money to see me after this” he tells you. “you have my number, use it for non education purposes.”
