18:00. Manjoume was ready at the time they’d agreed to meet on the dot, even though his ‘getting ready’ was finding a jacket that was the least wrinkled of the ones he’d owned and had thrown it on. This wasn’t a meet ‘n greet or a televised duel. It was grabbing food with Juudai and Manjoume was convinced he didn’t have to get dressed up as he would for a public meeting or a surprise interview.

Especially when Juudai’s outfit on his walking around the corner, late as always, didn’t look any more tailored than what it normally was. It probably would’ve been too weird if it had been anyway.

“You look like you got dressed by the cat,” Manjoume couldn’t stop an almost habitual smart remark, “What’d you do? Actually let Pharaoh brush your hair for you?”

“Yeah, only you didn’t have to tell me for me to realized that. Everyone here should know that much already!” He’d already figured anyway, especially with how quick all the odd glances and weird looks had faded away once the switch in power had been finalized, too. Alexis was Queen and The Chazz was finally being accepted as the one who deserved to be her right hand—just like he’d been harping himself for months.

“Besides, we both know there isn’t another person here who’d dare mess with someone like you while I’m around. Even if they thought they could, I’ve got more than enough skills to send them packing before they ever set out.”

“Rrgh...!” Saying that it’d taken everything in Chazz not to explode on the kid then and there was definitely an understatement. The second the glass of soda had literally covered the jacket he’d just wash, he could’ve sprung out of his chair and decked the stranger right then.

He didn’t, but the fist he’d had clenched around the set of chop sticks he’d been using definitely could have if Chazz wouldn’t have managed to keep a small shred of his self control by some miracle.

“—Here’s a tip, short stack! How about instead of you stuttering for me to forgive you, you hurry up and go and get me a towel instead? You got that!?”
