I’m still not over how truly and deeply Imogen loves Laudna.

Because it’s not just about “you saved my life” or “I’ll be there for you”. Imogen wants more than anything for Laudna to be back in this world with her.

But seeing Laudna’s memories? Finally, truly understanding how little agency she’s had for most of her life? Well, forcing Laudna to come back would just be contributing to that, and Imogen knows this.

It might break her to say it, but she does anyway. Because Imogen’s love for Laudna is that true, honest, selfless love. She won’t let it keep Laudna from happiness. Even if that means moving on, even if it breaks her completely.

“I’m not gonna tell you to come back…because that choice is yours.”

It should be Laudna’s choice, should always have been Laudna’s choice. Not Orym’s or FCG’s or Imogen’s.

So she tells Laudna how much she means, how much she’s loved, how the future is uncertain but they aren’t. And that, whatever Laudna decides, Imogen will be right here, always.
