Just in case someone needs this today:

It´s normal to mourn a celebrity. It´s okay to mourn someone you never knew and it is quite common. There are reasons for this grief. Even though we don´t know those celebrities personally, we know them.

Celebrities symbolize something we connect to especially if we feel understood by their world view/art work. We feel a connection to their struggle and it comforts us to know we are not alone.

They are often a regular part of our lives and when that part goes missing we experience a loss. Their death can also signify losing the part of our life through which their work accompanied us. It is amplified if we relate to how they died.

When someone passes away through suicide we can be hurt by it because we relate to it too, or by the fact that we know this is possible. This pain could happen to anyone and that is fucking scary.

There are reasons for this grief. And you don´t need to feel bad about it. Please try to let other people who feel this grief mourn. For sure we should try to keep happy memories of those gone on our mind too, but sometimes you can´t help but feel sadness that they won´t be there again.

Just… hang in there. You are doing well.

try and do something today that makes you feel good. whether that’s listening to music, taking a walk outside, talking to a friend or loved one, watching your favorite movie or it could mean taking a break from being on here or social media. take care of yourselves and your hearts. today is a hard day and it’s okay if you’re feeling that. it’s okay to be sad or happy - it’s all okay. feel how you feel. i hope you can find some small comfort today and as always, i’m sending you all lots of love.
