Reblog if you write fic and people can inbox you random-ass questions about your stories, itemized number lists be damned.

Another AO3 app that's pretending to be official when it's not (or at least isn't making it clear its unofficial.) They're using AO3's name and logo, and embedding ads.
There is no official AO3 app
Someone else is gathering your data, potentially your log in information etc and making use of it how they please. (They say they're not but their privacy policy says otherwise)
They are making money from the ads without the fic writer's consent.
They've also rated it Pegi 3 (which is ludicrous)
Please, even if you care about nothing else, for the safety of your data, please don't use this app. Certainly don't give it your AO3 log in details.
I've told AO3 that it's infringing on its copyright. I will be requesting they remove access of my work as I do not consent to my creative content being used to generate ad revenue for them.
I will be reporting it as incorrectly rated.
The only email address I can find is Narusta@gmail.com which is included in their privacy policy, and boboxway13@gmail.com as their developer.
❗❗❗
DO NOT FALL FOR THIS! THERE IS NO OFFICIAL AO3 APP

I have been saving this since last year. Happy Earth Day everyone.
My dad just said: at your age you’ll probably wanna try a lot of things. Boys, girls, being a girl, being a boy, being punk or goth or spunky. And im okay with that. As long as you don’t come home and tell me youre a republican

If you ever feel like you don't contribute to fandom because you "only" comment—
A regular serial commenter just joined a fandom Discord server I'm on and people are coming out of the woodwork to thank her for her service to the fandom, expressing how much joy her comments on their works bring them.
Remember—they're never only comments.
If you're a reader who gets nervous about leaving comments, please take a moment to read the notes on this post. The tags alone have been giving me life for the past week, and it's honestly lovely.
#fandom isn't about producing fan content anyway#it's about community and engagement#comments on fanworks and interactions with fellow fans IS contributing to fandom#never forget that
Shout-out to @raiphend for the addition of these very correct tags.
People who "only" comment are so so important. I recognise the usernames of people who regularly comment on my fics and I love them all. In fact I love anyone who leaves an uplifting comment on my work, whether it's once or repeatedly. Interaction is so important, it's really nice to feel like you're connecting with people via what you create, even if just for a brief moment.
This was @foxsoulcourt back in my aftg days. I so often go back and read her comments specifically.
Awwwwww @leahlisabeth t h a n k y o u for the shout out 🥹. Grateful to know those comments were helpful then + continue to be beneficial. 🧡🦊
Gonna be putting these screenshots here as a basic lesson on how NOT to be an ASSHOLE REVIEWER
Tip #1: This author ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT engage with anyone who goes around giving "DON'T READ THIS FIC" recommendations to others
Tip #2: That Hit-to-Kudos ratio is a BAD standard on which to judge any fic by and anyone using it (and proclaiming it as THE standard upon which) to read/recommend fics is an idiot
Tip #3: If you gonna be thinking this author thinks "everything I do in a good story is awesome and even the tiny stuff that means nothing to the story... and turns people off accidentally must be kept!" simply means you DO NOT HAVE A CLUE about why the author chose to use that scenario to bring the two lead characters closer. One's idiocy should not be passed off to the writer
Tip #4: All those backhanded compliments are NOT compliments at all
Tip #5: As a reviewer, you are judged by a set of standards as you would a writer. This is AO3, you don't know the author, your best bet is you DO NOT leave unsolicited criticism that exposes you for the over-privileged, self-entitled idiot that you are. That obvious need for attention and validation disguised as put-downs to make oneself seem bigger? Not a good look
Tip #6: Spare us the ESSAYS. They're just gonna be DELETED faster than you wrote them
Tip #7: Apparently, the reviewer is an author as well?? Dear oh dear. Always remember, what goes around comes around 😉 If I need writing advice from anyone who has only ever posted ONE fic in their AO3 profile, then I shall ask politely 😆
Holy shit. Yeah, no. This is an atrocious, entitled, pompous way to speak to someone providing free fic for entertainment.
Also that hit-to-kudos thing can die in a Fucking fire.
Oh, and? Fic writers talk to each other. We post shitty comments like this in our discords to gawp at in disbelief, and we ask recipients for the username of the commenter so we can pre-emptively block and mute the archive user.
If you're this much of an entitled tit in the comments of a fic, it's what you deserve, to be honest.
Wow. Okay, if someone wrote a comment like this on one of my fics and actually told me I had to rewrite/edit a whole chapter... And if they did this on a day I was already feeling a bit insecure about my writing then it could be very possible that I would just delete the damn fic out of spite.
It's something people still don't seem to realize. It's a hobby for most of us. We write in our free time. We don't get paid for it (nor do we want to get paid usually.)
Then getting comments like that..... Wow. And some readers wonder why some writers suddenly just leave and never come back. And even worse, delete their whole account and move on. Spoiler alert: it's because of situations like this.
The remake reboot prequel sequel industrial complex is killing me but the good thing is I don't have to watch any of that. I can just think "that sounds boring or otherwise doesn't interest me in any way" and do something other than watch it
"They're making a willy wonka origin story with timothee chalamet," you might say to me. "They're doing a live action the last airbender again, didn't you love avatar?" I don't find it necessary. This is nothing to me
