my final for my drawing class this semester. this was an absolute MONSTER to work on. this piece is 18 inches tall and 96 inches wide

we had to pick a news article that interested us, and i chose one on the discovery of a 14,000 year old village along the british columbian coast that entirely changed what we thought on how the americas were inhabited. really neat stuff. so i did my artwork in the style of cave art, which was harder for me than i expected.  my aim here was for the new discoveries and the old theories to look as if they were naturally colliding together, and that history is ever-changing and that’s not a bad thing. i’m glad my professor and class understood my message pretty well!

created the paper/cave texture myself, rubbed the paper in the dirt, scraped it on the concrete, and crumpled it up. then went over it with soft pastel to give it a striated sort of look. honestly wasn’t happy with it until i put the actual drawings in! then it all came together and had an incredibly nice flow to it. overall proud of this piece and glad its over, along with my freshman year!

Your Jyushi looks like he belongs in an Archies movie from the early 2000s for some reason

agreed, he does have that kinda vibe. i think thats part of why i like him and these event designs in general though.
