I had to really sink my teeth into this episode. It wasn’t something you could just walk through as an actor. I didn’t even sleep at night. I really dove into this role. Ken Biller [the writer/director] and I worked well together. I really felt Lex couldn’t just get crazy. He had to start out by thinking he was sane, then start wondering what was going on and if he was being framed, and then end up not even being able to think straight. Ken and I worked out an arc for the character, and because we don’t shoot the scenes in order, I had to trust Ken to maintain the continuity of the character and the through-line of the action that we had worked out. - Michael Rosenbaum talking about the episode Shattered.
