So, @unpepper and I have a Fantasy!AU for Yu-gi-oh we’ve been playing around with since October. I finally started to draw something for it, haha.
Aster is a human that lives in the West. His dad was killed at a young age & he was orphaned. Taken in by an orphanage moonlighting as a training ground for young assassins, Aster later discovers that the head of the orphanage, the D, killed his father to collect their family’s magical artifacts and obtain Aster and his dark affinity magic.
Naturally, Aster murders him and strikes out on his own as a vigilante hero. A few years later, Aster gets a request from the next-in-line from the kingdom’s throne to murder the current king. Aster does so, in exchange for the kingdom being renamed after him. However, when the people suspect foul play of the new king, Aster becomes the scapegoat. As he loses his head, the dark intentions of those around him and Aster’s will to live manifest as magic, and he becomes a demon.
Other stuff happens, he gets sealed in a flask for 100 years by the demon-hunting Ishtars, and eventually gets taken in under the guardianship of Ryou.
I drew this on paper, but I lined and colored it digitally. I have a few writing prompts done for the Fantasy!AU written and some larger stories, but nothing posting on my AO3.

laura; a serene forest, morning sunlight filtering through leaves still damp with last night’s rain. a ring of toadstools stand proud, untrampled in this secluded area. a fox meanders nearby, padding softly along the moss, then stops. and waits. nothing… it keeps going and a small, tinkling laugh follows after it.
kenzie; beanbags litter the floor, among various packets of whatever sweets the group had fancied earlier that day. the group of friends in question crowd around a small television, controllers clutched in hand as they jostle and yell, trying to get the upper hand - all in good fun, of course. they’re so caught up in their fun that they don’t notice the wet nose of a dog scrounging for leftovers in overturned pizza boxes.
laney; a dimly lit cafe that could only ever be described as cozy. the soft strum of a guitar and low hum of a vocalist filter through soft chatter. you don’t recognise the song, but you could care less because mIN YOONGI SLAM FUCKING DUNKS YOU your breath escapes your lungs as the person you’re with laughs at some stupid joke that you can’t remember. you’ve never been happier.
