I think it’s incredibly fucked how capitalism discourages learning for learning’s sake. People will have interests they’ve spent years researching then say it’s “useless knowledge” bc it didn’t go towards a college degree and isn’t part of their job. Learning is never useless! Your brain is growing and developing throughout your whole life! People would never have epiphanies or sudden lightening strikes of creativity if they weren’t learning new things! That goes double for topics like science, politics, and history, which inform your understanding of the world you live in!

I had a dream that the Hot New Discourse™ was that you "shouldn't call yourself a Bottom unless you look like him" with a picture of the donkey-headed Nick Bottom from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Nights Dream.

i miss the era of youtube where ads entirely subsisted of stuff on the side of the video or a very tiny ad at the bottom of the video you could immediately X out of. ads are not natural. it is within human nature that we should ignore them and forget them. humans can only remember so much at a time, why waste brainpower remembering that this garbage c-tier restaurant has a new sandwich, or that the navy really wants you to waste 5+ years of your life for some reason

So I started working again today, and me and my coworker had to squeeze lemons which usually is a really un fun job but TODAY. We had the mostly lovely batch of lemons to work with. So we rated how smoothly they cut and how nice the insides of them looked for about an hour. An absolutely marvelous time I gotta say
