1) DON’T use your search bar to find and open the Run app

2) DON’T type in services.msc

3) DON’T find Adobe Genuine Software Integrity Services and right-click to get a dropdown menu, and don’t select ‘properties’

4) if you happen to click properties, DON’T use the startup type dropdown to locate the option to disable the program. be sure you DON’T click apply to finalize that change. 

5) DO NOT do the same thing in order to also disable Adobe Genuine Software Monitor 

if you do all of these things, this WILL disable adobe’s ability to monitor the software, and you will be forced to continue using the same older software that you already paid for instead of having to sign up for a newer, shittier version and pay more for it. so if you have lots of cash to spare and are cool with putting it the pockets of racketeering capitalists, definitely don’t do any of these things. 

however, you SHOULD reblog this to spread the word, as we certainly want to make sure lots of people know what NOT to do :)

McDonald's loses EU trademark battle over the Big Mac. Burger King starts trolling them.

The full story:

There is an Irish restaurant chain called Supermacs that has opnened around 100 stores in Ireland since 1978. 

Recently, McDonald’s decided that this small restaurant chain that hasn’t even made it out of Ireland needed to be taught a lesson, and sued them on the basis that “Supermacs” infringes on the “Big Mac” brand name. Which is, of course, absolutely ridiculous.

McDonald’s ended up losing the case, because of course they did, they didn’t have a case to begin with. As a result, McDonald’s lost the rights to the term “Big Mac” across the entire European Union.

Which is why Burger King gets to do this with no legal repercussions. 

See but this is a classic example of why it’s so important for a company (you independent artists and what not included!) need to challenge ALL breaches of trademark because otherwise it can be invalidated. Also it looks more like they probably retained their right to use the trademark to name their burger but lost a specific type of usage that prevents others from potentially misusing your brand. Probably a common usage ruling.

I am not a lawyer though I just know what my responsibilities are to protect my registered trademarks and what the consequences are if I don’t take the “bad guy” approach. There’s lots of ways for de-escalation though. Wonder what if any were tried before it went to courts.
