- chuck follows you around like a lost puppy, and rambles to make up for the silence

- once he gets to know you better (and falls more in love with you) he gets more comfortable with the silence, and doesn’t try to fill it as much

- he spends almost all of the time he’s not with you talking about how much he loves you, and everyone is shocked when they find out you aren’t together

- he decides that he just can’t let his feelings bottle up any longer, and with a little nudge from tab, decides to confess

- his eyebrows raise in surprise when you admit that you feel the same, and he wastes no time in kissing you, wanting to make up for all of the lost time

johnny martin:

- johnny tries to push his feelings down at first with anger, not wanting to waste so much energy on someone he’s convinced could never feel the same

- he’s like joe, and takes your shyness as hatred, so he does the best he can to avoid you

- when that doesn’t stop how he feels, he decides to take a new approach, and starts slowly talking about the things he notices you like

- he’s always starting up conversation about books he’s seen you reading, family, back home, anything and everything just to hear your voice

- one night when you were sharing a foxhole, he lets his hand slip into yours, giving it a tight squeeze when you look over at him, a light smile on his face as his cheeks flush, and your head finds its way to his chest

floyd talbert:

- floyd loves to see you blush

- he throws whatever compliments he can your way, instantly smiling widely as your cheeks flush that dark crimson

- his stomach fills with butterflies, and he swears no one else has ever made him feel that way before

- he’ll reach over, brushing a piece of hair away from your face, smile still wide

- “you’re so cute, you know that?” he asks, moving closer to you, his hand wrapping around yours

- with one swift motion, he pulls you down on his lap, nuzzling his head into your shoulder

- “don’t say that doll, not ever. you’re the smartest person i know, i don’t want you to feel less than.”

- your words hang heavy in the air as chuck looks at you, bewildered

- “what?” he asks like he didn’t hear you even though your words are ringing in his ears

- before you can speak again he shakes his head, trying to brush away your insult

- he pulls you into him, hands tenderly running up and down your arm

- “you” he pauses to place a kiss on your lips before speaking again “are the smartest person i know, and i will do anything to prove that to you.”

don malarkey:

- when you say that, you shock this man into SILENCE (which not many can do)

- he stares at you, eyes wide, wondering where in the world you had gotten such an idea from

- “what?” is the only thing he can muster at first, his eyebrows still furrowed in a mix of confusion and concern

- he cuts you of soon after you start reiterating what you said

- “baby, please don’t say those things about yourself” he starts, genuinely upset “you are such a wonderful person, and it kills me to know that that’s how you feel.”

ron speirs:

- ron is already quiet, so the fact that he doesn’t take a moment before speaking like he usually does is…different

- as soon as the words leave your mouth, he shuts it down with a quick “don’t say that.”

- he calms down a little bit before speaking again, wanting to have a serious conversation about what you had just said

- “do you really feel that way?” he asks in a softness that was unfamiliar to you

- he reaches for your hands, thumb brushing over your knuckles, “please be honest” he begs

bull randleman:

- bull chuckles as soon as you say it

- not because he thinks it’s funny but because he knows how wrong you are

- “sweetheart” he says with a slight shake of the head and a smile

- he brushes a piece of hair away from you face and forces you to look at him

- “even you have to know how silly you sound”
