I always wonder, there are millions interviews from the SnK canon/ Mr Isayama and how much information the foreign eruri fandom is really obtaining.
Anyway, I just want to say “Fans Book – Answers” is a holy bible for all eruri shippers and everyone who loves Erwin and Levi should have a copy
In case you do not have one or you cannot read Japanese, below are some highlights
Trust me, except the “Notes” are from me, they are all from Mr Isayama.
- Ackerman family members can fully utilize their real power only when they are working for their lord/ master
- Erwin is Levi’s master/ lord. Levi admitted that Erwin is someone superior than him. It is from his instinct. It is something related to the Ackerman’s blood
- Mikasa and Levi’s position in the comic is near toi a body guard serving their boss. It is a characteristic of the Ackermans. But who they are protecting and why they are doing so is completely from their own judgment & choice
- (Note: This means Mikasa and Levi’s serve their lords not only because of their instinct but also from their own decision)
- Levi was angry with Erwin’s response in Ch.72. That’s why he was punching Jean and Eren so hard in the Canteen
- (Note: it is quite adorable that even he is super mad, he never really hurt Erwin :p).
- Levi felt a sense of loss when Kenny dead and when he realized that Erwin has plans other than just saving the human race.
- (Note: Mr Isayama used the word 喪失感 in the interview, it is a Japanese word used when you feel a sense of loss to something/ someone very DEAR to you)
- Levi was surprised by Erwin’s other intentions at first. He thought “this is different from what Erwin originally told him” BUT, this doesn’t mean he feel any distrust to Erwin(不信感というより)
- Although Levi felt Erwin has a plan more childish than he thought, but Levi finally decided that “anyway, no matter what, I am going to help him (仕方がないから協力してやるよ)
- One reason Levi joint and stayed in the Survey Corps is because Erwin told him to save the human race together
Something about Levi and Erwin separately
- If Levi didn’t join the Survey Corps, he will be a very irresponsible person
- When Kenny asked Levi, Levi realized that he is a slave to his power.
- Little Levi worked very hard to get stronger because he wanted Kenny to praised him
- Levi continues being a hero mainly because he feels he is obliged to do so
- Erwin is really a competent and capable man who can and is willing to sacrifice his dreams in time when he really need to fulfill his responsibility
Something not from “Fans Book - Answers” but from Mr Isayama’s official blog
- In Ch.72, what Levi really wanted to say to Erwin was “It is very dangerous outside so don’t get out”
- (Note: A little bit of background explanation. This was a response from Mr Isayama to the Japan Fandom at that time, Some fans believed that Levi distrusts Erwin. They said what happened in Ch.72 is that Levi is trying to stop Erwin from participating the mission because Erwin is suspicious. However, according to Mr Isayama, the reality is, Levi was simply worried)
- But Erwin really wants to get out so in the below scene he was in fact showing Levi a childish disagreed expression (拗ねる)
