             hello, kiddos. it’s been a while. just wanted to post something, really, to make sure anyone who’s still around knows that i have not abandoned this blog. hell, lately, i haven’t been writing online at all. guess i just love this blog too much to not give it anything less than my every bit of attention when i am on and writing here. i guess you can consider this blog “seasonal” now, in terms of activity. in fact, i believe i missed its fourth anniversary on march 6th. four years of this blog. that’s amazing. not my longest-running “muse” but my most steady blog. never archived, never deleted and rebooted. i will say that i’m very happy i’ve kept this blog as is for such a long time, and only come on when i really want. it never tires me, it never feels uncomfortable (i’ve seen this happen to people with their blogs and it’s truly sad). anyway, i just wanted to drop by and post this. i make no promises, considering the times and events we’re all living through at the moment, and my own personal things, but i do want to redo certain things around here (e.g., tags, icons, info pages) and start writing again. not to say i’ll change my writing in any way, this is the blog i am most proud of in terms of my writing, but i do want to update things that will make posting and reading my writing easier not only for myself but for all of you who have written with me, want to write with me, or read my stuff, too. with that, i say best wishes to you all. hope you’re having fun, hope you’re safe, watch the crow, read the crow. have a great weekend and i will talk to you later. <3

     ——   IT  WAS  EASY  FOR  HER  TO  MAKE  HIM  SMILE,    to   bring   out   the  best  .  they   could  be   a  couple   in   love  ,    passionate   and   about   to   marry    one   moment   ,    and   children   at   play   the   next   .   but    that   fervent    love    remained   .    always   .    eric’s    grin   widened    at   the    comical       response   .    she     was     his    best    friend   ,    lover    ,    refuge   ,     and    future     wife    .    the    kiss    was    welcomed      and     returned   .       intimate    ,   tender   ,    sweet  .

             HER WHISPERED WORDS SOUNDED   like     heaven    -     his    idea     of     haven    .    to    be    with    her    ,     forever   .     they   were    truly    something   .     “I love you.”

      ——   ERIC WASN’T USUALLY COMFORTABLE    when    it   came   to   personal    anecdotes    ,    specially    not    those   from    childhood  .     as   open    as   he    could   be   ,    he    didn’t    simply     went    on    sharing     with     people     (   though    shelly    had   always   been    the    exception   )   .    needless    to   say   ,     he    had    some    experience   in    dealing     with   insufferable     siblings    -    his   name    was    chris   ,    and   there     was     a    good   reason    he   hadn’t    spoken   to   him    in    years  .  magick   powers   ,    on   the   other  hand  ,   seemed   like     a   child’s    lie   to   pick   on    his   sister   .   “That wasn’t very nice.”    eric   offered   a   smile  ,   “But if it makes you feel better, orphanages aren’t all that bad.”

   ——   IN THE CITY, WHERE ANGELS FEAR TO HOVER  and   devils    come   to   croon  .  the   dead    man    wants   to   warn    her   ,     to    tell  her   of    the   monsters    walking    in    shells    of   men   .    mere    meat   puppets    with   no   desire   but   to    cause   sorrow   and   pain   .     He   says   to   his   dead    lover   -   We   should    have   never    come    here   .     these    putrid    city   streets    ,    once    loved    by   hearts    unwise     and     the   purest    souls   .     he   now   thinks     of    shelly   ,    with   a   camera     around    her    neck  .    snapping    pictures    of    him  ,    of   gabriel   ,     and    herself   .

          ⊰ WHAT ARE YOU DOING, SON? ⊱                                                             the  feathery   creature   cawed  in   disinterest                                                               and   urgency   ,    there   were   things   to    do                                                                -    men   to   hunt   -    dogs   to    put   down   .

             A FORGOTTEN GENTLE NATURE,   harmless   smile    and   a   tender   heart  .   the   former  musician   ignored    the    bird   when   it   cawed   again  .   “You don’t run into trouble, Lydia. Trouble runs into you.”    a   mime-like   smile   rendered   him   to   ask.   “Tell me, why don’t you want to go home?”

  ——   A   KIND  REMINDER  THAT   ERIC  IS    mainly   the    repair   /   maintenance    handyman   in   his   apartment   building  .   he   does   “odd   jobs”   around    as   means   to   actually   pay   the   bills   .    he’s   in    a   band   ,    yes   ,    he’s    a   musician  ,   yes   .    but   his  band   (  hangman’s   joke  )  and   the   band’s    record   (  last   laugh  )   aren’t    famous   or   anything  .    they   may   be  known   around    the   local   scene   and   bars    but    not    as  to   live   off    their   music   .     they   never   got   that    far  .    he’s   not    a    professionally   trained   musician   -   but   he    is    talented   /   skilled   .    he’s    the   kind   of    artist   that   truly   does   things    for  the    purity   and   love    for    his   art   /   music  .    however  ,    due   to   lack    of   further   education   ,    he   often    (  privately   -    with   the   exception  of   shelly  )   second-guesses   his    abilities    and   guides   himself   majorly    by   what    musically   feels    “right”   .

            IN DEATH, HOWEVER, MUSIC IS   exceptionally    CATHARTIC  .    while    his   focus   is   avenging    shelly’s    death   (   because  it’s   not   about  his  death  ,   this   is  all  about   shelly  )   ,    there   will   be   a   time   or   two   when    he   is   alone   with   his   anger   and  melancholy   and   with   both   the   memories   of   shelly   and   those  of     her    murder  --   that   he    finds   small   release    through   his   guitar  .    that’s   where   “inferno”   comes   from   .    in   death    music   is   nothing   but   a  medium   through   which  he    can    commemorate   shelly    and    channel    his   rage    and   sorrow   .
