hey. to the fat person reading this who wants to transition or is transitioning. make your transition goals fat like you. please. the things you aim to gain from transition can be gained while fat. you can be/express your gender and be fat. there is nothing wrong with that, no matter what anyone says. i promise.

let yourself exist. let yourself be happy. you have just as much of a right as every other person in this world to do that, especially as you transition. it's okay. you're going to be alright, and you're also going to look fucking awesome. you already look fucking awesome. it's your body. own it.

Statistics confirm this reality: suicidal people hide in order to end their lives (Beattie and Devitt, 2015; WHO, 2014; Peck, 2003). My argument is that they do not speak because they fear the negative consequences of doing so in a suicidist environment. Indeed, as empirical research shows, suicidal people, as is often the case for those considered "mad" and "crazy," are institutionalized and drugged against their will, are excluded from insurance programs, are either not hired for new jobs or fired from their current jobs, are expelled from university campuses, have their parenting rights revoked, are seen as incapable of sound judgment and of consenting or not to healthcare, and are subjected to other unfair treatments (Beattie and Devitt, 2015; Hewitt, 2010; 2013; Joiner, 2005; Stefan, 2016; Szasz, 1999; Webb, 2011).

Word's on the street that Bloomsbury is censoring and refusing to publish any author who promotes any rhetoric that is anti Rowling. In other words, they are looking to silence trans and queer authors, specifically transfeminine authors, for speaking up against Rowling's deranged bigotry. And not just that, they are trying to silence workers about this issue.

This information was shared today by Juno Dawson, a British trans author ("Her Majesty's Royal Coven", "The Shadow Cabinet"– an urban fantasy series that is pretty explicitly taking a shot at JKR) who has always been vocal about both condemning Rowling's hateful rhetoric and also spreading awareness about trans rights in the UK (esp in the light of the recent Cass review)

I'm so serious once you start advocating for children to be banned from places like cafes and restaurants soon enough other marginalised groups are gonna get banned too (more outwardly that is). to me, your hatred for children is a litmus test for how much humanity you see in other marginalised people

For as much as I love Paris Is Burning (1990) (It was foundational in my getting into ballroom history and learning more about the ballroom scene in my area when I was in my early 20s), I feel like we barely mention its spiritual sequel How Do I Look (2006) even though it gives a much better look into ballroom and how the popularity of Paris Is Burning affected the scene. It also touches on the issues participants of the og Paris Is Burning doc had with the handling of the og doc and the way the mainstream has been trying to exploit the ballroom scene since the second they found out about what it is. While Paris Is Buring is a deeply important part of our history, it should NOT be your first and last stop when learning about ballroom culture.

School: Teaches you something for a week with historical background, context, effects, and outcomes.

One TikToker: Tells you it's fake while doing a bad contour.

Some of y'all: SCHOOL LIED?!

Some of y'all dunked on anti-vaxxers for "doing their own research", but you're perfectly happy to parrot some laughably ahistoric pap from a dubiously sourced book that you got filtered through three layers of social media influencers.
