I don’t care if this comes off as cruel but you are not entitled to fanfiction. You are not entitled to podfics. You are not entitled to translated works.

Creators are not paid to make fanworks. People spend years of their lives writing fic and getting nothing in return except positive interactions. You can ask to make a translation. You can ask to make a pod fic. But you cannot demand it.

And because the only thing fanfic writers get in return for their work is positive feedback, taking away an authors ability to receive that is disgusting. Authors deserve to have full control and ownership of their works.

Fanfic isn’t a product to consume and then demand more of. Authors and creators deserve better.

Here's to the people who can't get the words on the page. The people who are too tired after all life throws at them to write. The people who are blocked. The people who are burnt out. The people who can't write because of physical or mental illnesses. The people who don't know why they can't write. And the people struggling with all those other things that get in the way of writing and make it seem or be impossible.

You're still a writer, you're still an artist. And you matter. This world is better since you're in it. Thank you for wanting to write, even if you can't right now. I hope you and your words find each other soon.

The Wolf Moon comes; the town shutters.

Fathers guard the door of familial homes, weapons sharpened, ready. Once, a man managed to save his daughter — a vicious fight that lasted nearly the whole night. He lost his left leg, and his right eye. No one else who went up against a beast ever made it out alive. The most anyone can do is pray that a beast doesn’t darken their door, that they won’t be spirited away, devoured.

You never really stood a chance. An orphan, alone, in your shack at the outskirts of town. The lock on your door barely even works.

No one would miss you — that’s why they don’t protect you. They’ll probably just be glad it wasn’t them.

You don’t scream as the creature rips the door right off its hinges. You don’t kick or bite as it hefts you into its huge, furry arms. It skulks through the tall grass fields, into the woods, and you shiver against its warm body, like a deer brought to ground. Submissive, doomed.

It brings you to a small alcove, a relief in the rocky cliff side. It settles in the shadows, with you curled in it’s lap. You don’t look at its terrible face as it pants, nosing against your throat. You feel the softest insinuation of teeth against your skin. You don’t beg.

You brace for pain, for death.

Dawn comes, first.

You’re nearly delirious from exhaustion, from terror. You feel the beast shift. You feel it’s body grow smaller, wrap tighter around you.

When you finally meet it’s gaze, you’re looking into the face of a man. A human.
