Oh look! The child found a rare Noxian Mountain Lily! And now it's in her mouth.
Ryze had to pick up the child and attempt to pry the poor plant from her mouth. “Meredith, this isn’t food.” He stated bluntly as he held her under one arm and his free hand on the bit of stem that wasn’t in her mouth.
“No, no it’s not.” He knew she was talking about the candy flowers that were on a couple cakes in the bakery back in town. Ryze took the flower, sighing a bit as he held onto it while putting the child back down. “This is a real plant, not the candy ones that are made of sugar.”
She paused, trying to recall the words. “Berry sweet, berry plant.” she muttered, shrinking back on herself once her feet hit the ground.
“We can look for berries if you really needs some but I need you to not eat plants at random. Some might upset your stomach or ill.” He patted her head gently, trying hard not to seem so harsh as he slipped the flower into her hair, just tucked behind her ear. “You can wear it though. See?”
"And this wizard interests me enough, man, what is it you seek in the Empire, as far as my predecessor in power was concerned, nothing you could seek is to be found in the Empire."
“Are you certain of that?” He growled at the other, mouth clearly in a tight frown while a single hand tugged at the tips of his beard. “With how much new territory Noxus has gained in the years, I would be surprised if there was really none.”

"Oh, so you have come for this purpose and not to waste time, I understand. If you have something located, I wouldn't mind being informed so I can see one of those things with my own eyes, then you can take it with you."
“Those ‘things’ are not toys to be ogled at.” There was easily a bitter rumble in his voice as he spoke at the other, clearly not caring about who was in charge at the time. Many have been in this man’s place but most aren’t immune to death. “There are very few people I would trust with one and you are not on that list.”

"Ah, then I was wrong, you didn't come to me to ask for help to get back what you are looking for. Of course they're not toys, I'm just curious to see what it's like..." He looks at his own Claes and ploshes them again the soft fabric of his suit.
"I don't want an additional problem to fix in Noxus if it's discovered that there's something like that in our territory. Do you know how many opposing factions there are now? Do you know how many would emerge after this news? I prefer it to be out of my sight and away from my people..."
The old mage scoffed. As if he’d let reckless people keep ahold, and much less use the runes that are being unearthed or passed around. “Trust me. Keeping them out of the hands of people is a mixed bag. Either they understand the dangers of the shards or I have to force them to relinquish them to hide them away from all of humanity.” He explained to the other. “If luck is on my side, then you would never if one was to be found in Noxus.”

The child whined spitting out the bitter plant. It looked so similar to those pretty sugar flowers back in the city, the ones that decorated beautiful cakes. “Not sugar..” she replied, disappointed.
“No, no it’s not.” He knew she was talking about the candy flowers that were on a couple cakes in the bakery back in town. Ryze took the flower, sighing a bit as he held onto it while putting the child back down. “This is a real plant, not the candy ones that are made of sugar.”
