Best friends or worst enemies for today. Went with best friends. I know I consider myself a DaveKat ghoulie, but SolKat is a rlly close second when it comes to Karkat’s relationships. Sollux and Karkat genuinely had such a fun dynamic and it’s such a shame that we didn’t get more of it. My fav part is how they’d get into silly little fights and then be all "are we still friends 🥺" like two seconds later.

Ok so if anyone is curious this did happen. It was in Portland, Oregon. The dead guy, last name Magnuson, age 55, screamed epithets at this UPS driver, Warren, age 41. Warren stopped and told him off. Magnuson then decided to hit Warren. Oregon has no Duty to Retreat, so Warren was within his rights to hit him back. He ht him once in the face and he fell and hit his head on a sidewalk, which is probably what actually killed him. All that to say, no charges filed and good fucking riddance.

This is also important because until 1951, Indigenous kids were not allowed to dance at pow wows. It was illegal for them to participate. This is not only heartwarming, but an act of defiance against the ongoing oppression and genocide sanctioned by the Canadian government.

Some notes about this that I think are interesting. In low approval he's unnaturally still and doesn't blink. Not even once. He's turned slightly away from them like he's ready to attack or run at any second. He's fully alert and on guard. He does NOT trust tav. In high approval he literally slow blinks like a cat and sways back and forth a little like he's giddy to talk to tav. He literally can't stop smiling even at the expense of looking a little silly :3 He shows complete trust and absolutely adores them. Either platonically or romantically. Just some details that I think are really cool and show how much thought the devs put into these interactions. Even though most of the time we can't even see the faces he makes when talking to him.
