{ ♪ } – Her expression softened and she brushed her fingers over her hair. She didn’t even say anything when a cigarette was placed between Staci’s lips. Honestly, she wasn’t quite bothered at this point. The redhead felt depressed and upset and sort of just wanted to curl up and sleep…
But, Staci’s admission tugged at her heart. Red eyes widened and she stepped a little closer. A small smile took her lips and she nodded her head.
“Thank you for admitting that. I know you’ve been trying to cut back… It means a lot to me.”
It was true, she noticed how hard Staci was trying. It wasn’t always perfect, but recovery never was. Bella could hardly fault her for her relapses. Addiction was a demon and she was fighting it the hardest she could. Sometimes she won, and others she failed. It was understandable. Allowing Staci to approach, she welcomed the touch openly and gave a warm smile.
“Right. I don’t think that Shou would be too happy about that. He gets upset when I burn candles, much less having someone smoke inside.”
Holding out her hand, she waited to see if Staci would take it before starting to walk out the door and down through the workshop of the Jewelry store.
She nods, and takes Bella’s hand. She follows, quickly producing a lighter from her pocket, and lifting it to her cigarette.
“Yeah, I--I don’t mean to pull the I’m an alcoholic card often. I really don’t. It’s just how it is, I guess.” She frowns, fingering the lighter a few times as she speaks. She’s trying her best, but she’s only human.
She pulls the cigarette from her lips, and laughs, self-deprecatingly.
“Kiss before I taste like a chimney?” She offers, leaning in a bit. She smirks, but it runs from her face as quickly as it appears.
“I...I love you, y’know? Have I said that recently?”
