imo people hate Kylo because he doesn’t exemplify hyper-masculinity. One of the first things I heard from my dad after TLJ was, “I don’t like Kylo Ren, he’s a loser.” Part of the male audience dislikes Kylo Ren because he’s painted to be flawed and weak and bad at being bad. He is the one who cries and he lashes out. He’s been a victim and he’s been manipulated. His emotions are incredibly evident and he is vulnerable. It is the man, in this situation, that plays the damsel. It’s essentially the ultimate formula for pissing off dudebros in need of a figure to impose themselves on when they are incapable of living up to this imaginary standard of masculinity. 

Pride & Prejudice: The Last Jedi Edition I was obviously inspired to make this happen. There’s more to come! XD
