Tumblr would be completely obsessed with Psaro the Manslayer if Dragon Quest was more popular in the west. He has pretty much everything people love in pretty and brooding anime villains. He would be INESCAPABLE
The only two nitpicks I have about Dragon Quest: The Dark Prince is that:
- Teenage Psaro's voice is WAY TOO DEEP. He's supposed to be in his awkward teenage years. I want his voice to crack and have acne like the rest of us had to go through. His voice makes it sound like he's a 30-year-old in a metal 80s band.
- The Arial font that read "The Dark Prince". Really? ARIAL? I mean, at least it's not Papyrus or Comic Sans, but still...Arial? That's the best your graphic designer could do?
I know these are tiny little nitpicks that are unbelievably petty, but I still wanted to talk about them.
I LOVING the Dark Prince. It is SO ADDICTING. I've already poured in 17 hours of my life that I'll get back but screw it, it was awesome.
To quote Dostoevsky, "The world go to hell, but I will still have my video games tea."
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is a SPIN-OFF GAME and yet it STILL has better graphics than Pokemon: Scarlet/Violet.

I've been playing Dragon Quest Monsters 3: The Dark Prince, and I've never played DQIV (it was before my time), so I don't have the context on who Psaro is. I'm still heavily enjoying the game!
Though I'm starting to worry for Toilen Trubble's safety. Everytime he says something stupid (which is a lot of the time), Psaro gives him this terrifying look that screams "I'm going to spray shaving cream down your throat while you sleep".

Last night I had a nightmare where someone cut off all of Wei Wuxian's fingers and said, "We don't have to worry about him now,". WWX went back to LWJ who had this murderous rage in him.
Oh my god 😭
Someone cutting his fingers so he can’t play the dizi, taking the only thing he has to kinda defend himself. LWJ finding out… oh god, the rage, the murderous intent. He won’t hesitate to bring whoever dared harm his beloved to justice. He’ll deliver the punishment himself
I know. I just wonder where my brain got this horrible idea.
Just started Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince. And I have many questions about the entire deal with the seasons and the days. The seasons are SO SHORT and the days are long. Does this planet move differently around its sun, or am I missing something?

Personally I am very curious to see how Dragon Quest will continue it's "turn main antagonists into protagonists through spin-offs". First Malroth in DQB2, now Psaro in the new Monsters game.
Dhoulmagus is next, I feel it in my bones...
So I just finished Dragon Quest XI. Since I've never played Dragon Quest I, I don't think I got the references at the end.
Either way, I'm crying and I didn't want to say goodbye to these characters that I've grown so attached to, but I knew I had to finish it.
