#StudyAttempts

@studyattempts / studyattempts.tumblr.com

S E L I N A | 22 | BSc CompSci Witness me as I try out this mystical thing called productivity. I heard from reliable sources that it works wonders. Though, if it will work for me, I have yet to find out. I don't expect to contribute much to the community at this point because I have no idea what I'm doing yet. But watch out world! One day I certainly will. var sc_project=10960149; var sc_invisible=1; var sc_security="f98ed6e5"; var scJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? Reminder: Sometimes your life isn’t going to be studyblr-perfect. You’re not going to always plan out all of your assignments, projects, and study sessions 2 weeks in advance, you’re not going to always give your assignments your 100% because, let’s face it, life happens. Maybe your dog got really sick, maybe your best friend called you crying over the phone at 3am, or maybe you just didn’t feel mentally well enough to give everything your all without dragging yourself into the ground. That’s okay. Accept yourself and your imperfections. Accept reality. Forgive yourself if you must. And move on. Because a the end of the day, one missing assignment or one bad grade isn’t going to define your worth.

Hey guys, so as some of you may know, I’m going into 10th grade, and I’m going to be taking the Algebra 2 course. So of course, I decided to make a masterpost with some of my own personal math tips and some other helpful links!

my personal tips/methods for studying math:

IN CLASS //

pay attention to the teacher. hang on to their every word. seriously.

especially listen for hints they might drop, like stating that a certain type of problem will be on a test. write this down if it happens.

watch how they solve the problems and copy down all the steps.

take good notes with lots of details! last year, my math teacher let us use our notes on all the tests, so good notes definitely helped me!

HOMEWORK//

do all of your homework thoroughly! make sure you know all your concepts, ask for help if you need it, and watch videos on websites like Khan Academy to boost your understanding!

check all you work!

also do some extra practice, either from your textbook or from other sources!

TESTS//

make sure you understand everything from the chapter/unit!

if you don’t, make sure you go ask you teacher/parents for clarification, because it will help you study less for the exams.

know the formulas and the main concepts.

do as much practice as you can!!!

review your notes, do problems from the textbook, look up practice questions online…

take practice tests and quizzes.

Believe in yourself, and go ace that quiz!

TAG YOURSELF: STUDYBLR

Jane: perfect notes, horrible grades, queen of masterposts
Patrick: starts drama, throws shade on popular blogs
Austin: injects coffee, messy notes and low self esteem, saves masterposts even knowing he will never use them
Amelia: simple notes, all A's, avoids drama and hates answering asks
Gordon: always sleepy, studies the night before the test and manages to pass gracefully
Marabelle: popular blog, doesn't even know what she's doing but it's working
Brian: hates studying, burns books for fun but also wants to go to college
Karen: anime nerd, tries to learn 8 languages at once, fails
Marcus: literally one of the few humans who can understand math, doesn't remember the last time he slept

Edye’s book recs!

So this is really long and overly comprehensive and took over an hour to write and is 6 pages long on Google Docs

Here I’ve compiled a list of my all time favorite reads for various genres, based on looking through the over-stuffed bookshelves I have in my room. I went a bit overboard describing each book, but hopefully you’ll enjoy my commentary? Anyway, feel free to ask me questions about any of the books, and if you read it send me an ask or tag me in a post to let me know what you think!

A couple notes

  • An asterisk * indicates that there is at least one sequel, which I may or may not have read or been a fan of.
  • These are listed in no particular order, except the historical fiction is listed in chronological order
  • There might be triggers in any of the books that I haven’t warned you about, so make sure to read the summary of the book beforehand. You can always ask me if you’re leery about any title listed here!
  • At the end I list my number one recommendation for each genre, if you want to skip to that.

Okay, okay, can you get to the list already?

If you insist. Rude.
